to put on ebay?..I need to raise some cash..so unfortunately have to part with some of my beloved pins..my prize sets are the Main Street Electrical Parade set..and the set of six Disneyland Princess and Prince dangle pins..both sets are in mint condition...can anyone pm me or answer this post as to what 'might' be an appropriate asking/starting price?..and also..should I attempt to sell them as a set..or as individual pieces?...thanks in advance

There are actually a few steps.

The first is to go to www.pinpics.com and try to locate the specific pins. Note for each there is a number for people looking for the pin and for people who are willing to trade them away. As a general rule the higher the lookig for/trading away ratio is, the higher the relative value of the pin. For example, some of the older pins have well over 100 people looking and only one or two willing to trade; on eBay they will normally go for over $200 each.

Second is to search eBay closed auctions to see if there have been any recent sales, and the final bid price. Also, the number of bids will help with an indication of desireability.

Last is the decision to sell the complete set as a unit or the individual pins. Genrally if all sell, you will get more money by selling the pins individually as often people are looking for one or two specific pins to complete a set.

will do as suggested and then give it a shot..advice is much appreciated!
