Can an educational aide qualify for the Swan/Dolphin discount?

I'm sure this has been asked before and I wasn't paying attention. Can I as an educational aide qualify for the teacher's discount at the Swan/Dolphin? I do not have my teaching certification but I teach/tutor learning support students in a middle school. I have staff identification. What type of proof do they require at check-in?

Check the government employee rates if you work for the county/state school system. You would probably qualify for that. The teacher's rate requires a valid teaching certificate. I am pretty sure the government/teacher rates are the same.

I would hope an aide would get the discount. I thought somewhere I had seen that you need to produce a paystub from a school to get the discount.

I've heard that they want a teachers certificate. That would leave a lot of folks out. Our school system uses a lot of paraprofessionals. They don't have certification. But, maybe it could fall under the gov't rate. As of the moment, my dh is a town official so we could use him. But it would be nice if all those people who give so much time, working in schools could get that rate too. Teachers don't get that much pay so any extra benefits would be wonderful!

For the teacher's rate, all you have to show is a paystub, your union card, or something on school letterhead that shows that you teach.

Teacher's at private schools are not always required to have certification, or to be certified in the state they teach in.

I had a paystub from a private school, and it was fine. HTH.
