Can a stateroom assignment be changed AFTER booking?

Hi all -- cruising newbie here!!

I am working on booking our very first cruise, a Mar 26 Eastern Caribbean cruise -- so exciting!!

I have had a reservation on "three-day hold" for the past couple of days, and see that I can change my stateroom selection easily online right now (and I already have... a few times!!).

My question: Can this selection be changed AFTER I officially book and make the deposit, or am I locked in at that point?

Yes, you can change it up until you sail. It will be subject to availability. I would book what you will be happy with right from the start.

I have just been playing musical staterooms as I read reviews and learn so much about this very first cruise!! I'm going to try to make a "final" pick by this evening, which will be easier to do if I know that I COULD change it IF I find out something horrendous about the one I pick!

Yes you can make changes after you are booked. If down the road, you want to move from an inside to a verandah, you will get the price for what the verandah category was on the day you originally booked.

Thank you for asking that question MickeyMinnieMom!! :0) I just booked our first cruise, for this December and have not seen how to select/change rooms. Do you have to be paid in full to do this? Right now, I have a 5E booked, but that is in Guarantee status (which confuses me anyway). Thank you for any help!!

If you have a GTY that means you can not pick your room. You will be assigned a room in at least a 5e or better.

I never knew that. I assumed you would pay the price it was on the day you changed

Yes, it is just for the cruise that you are booked on. You lock in the prices on the day you book. If you change cruise dates you would pay the prevailing rates.

Adding a person to a reservation gets the current prevailing rates.

Not really sure how it works after your PIF date. I would think it would be the same as long as there is rooms available to move to.
