My sister and brother will be staying at another sisters off site condo.
I don't want to spend my park morning driving to the airport and back. We're staying at POP and won't be leaving for 3 more days. They can get to POP and then ME could take them to MCO. Anyone know if this is possible?
Who could I talk to about purchasing a ticket?
Is there any other ideas?

Thanks

No. They can't. Magical Express is for Disney resort Guests only.

They can take a taxi from wherever they are to the airport.
They can arrange for a town car.
Or they can have the Mears Shuttle take them - I think. I don't know if it actually services condos.

If I were you I would contact Mears. I think they will pick them-up at the POP for a reasonable fee.

Mears will not pick up anyone at a Disney owned resort.

However, Mears will pick them up from the Swan/Dolphin, or Shades of Green.

Call Mears the night before they wish to leave, tell Mears their flight time and one of the above hotels. Mears will provide a pickup time. The one-way to the airport from one of those locations is less than $20 per person.

If they don't have a lot of luggage, that should be doable.

I can get them to any resort thats not a problem.
Is leaving it to the night before departure a OK idea?
Will these hotels have a problem with it?

Thank-you

I know I'm selfish for not wanting to spend my time driving to the airport!:rolleyes1

Yes, there is no problem with calling the night before. Even when Mears was providing most of the transportation from the resorts before Magical Express, they always instructed to call the night before.

Also, FYI, the drivers can only take CASH for their transportation.

The resorts have no problem with it. If you are driving them over, I would recommend Swan or Dolphin. Since you are a Disney resort guest, just tell them you are coming for a meal. Drop them off at the entrance, and they can wait at the Mears station with their luggage.

Are you sure? I know Mears will drop off at a Disney owned resort. They just won't let you make a reservation. They'll generally use a DME bus. I'd call Mears. Just tell them they're ending a trip with a meal at whatever resort you want and aren't eligible for DME. Actually ask at a Mears desk in the airport. I doubt a DME driver can accept cash, they may need to buy a voucher in the airport.

I called Mears and the person I talked to wasn't very helpful. Said if they were not staying at the resort (POP) they couldn't be picked up.

Mears can probably pick them up from their condo. Is there anyother reason they're going to be going to POP? Last meal with you? Ask at the Mears desk in MCO. Tell them you want to be picked up at POP and see if you can pay them for a voucher. The DME drivers won't be able to take cash.

The flight leaves at 6pm so we thought they could come over and drop luggage at POP in the morning then we could go to a park till pick up time.
I thought they left in the morning but its afternoon.
I was wondering if I could drop them off at one of the DTD hotels and they could get a shuttle from there. The lady I talked to at Mears wasn't all that helpful maybe if I called again I'd get someone new.

Thanks for all the help

We're not trying to get something for free willing to pay but a shuttle is much cheaper then a taxi or a towncar

Mears will pick up from the S/D, SoG and the DTD hotels. Otherwise ask at the Mears desk in MCO, my guess is they will let you buy a vocher but I'm sure they the Mears reps on the phone won't be able to help you.

I don't know about their budget, but what about a Town Car back to the airport? The town car could pick up your family members right at your resort and they can just grab their luggage from your room. And, I think the town cars pick up less than the 3 hours before departure that ME does (giving you a bit more time in the park).

Just a thougt. Good luck.

Another vote for the town car--or a taxi. If the bus really is $20/person and they have to get to some place or other (the Swan, POP, etc.) just to be picked up, then maybe it'd be easier for them to get a taxi or town car directly from their condo. I don't know where your siblings are staying (gee, they never ask me over these days :rotfl: ), but, for example, I think the taxi/town car fare from WDW to MCO is about $50 (for 2 people, about $10 more than the bus?) and the whole hassle of having to figure out all the logistics, etc., would be eliminated. To me, that'd be equal to at least $20! :)
