Can a DVC contract have different owners with different addresses?

We're thinking of doing an add-on and are thinking of putting our 2 adult childrens name on it. They each are on their own, married, and with their own homes. I guess I'm wondering if we can have 3 or 4 owners (I'm sure yes) but can a contract have more than 1 address? My kids are going to get it anyway so I thought I'd make it easier to make ressies and let them enjoy the discount APs.

Thanks, Jean and Bob

My Mom purchased SSR last year and also put me and my brother on the contract. We each are registered under our own address.

It's been brought up on other threads, that once you add other names to your contract, the property now can be considered partly theirs. So if there is a divorce or other legal action against one of the parties, the ownership of the DVC contract can be brought into the suit.

For adds ons of less than 150 points you cannot do this without changing the names of the original contract as well, which you must do first and not through DVC. The closest I've seen is someone who bought two 75 points contracts and were allowed to register them different than their original contract. I wouldn't count on even this amount of flexibility without a full 150 points contract for future transactions. You can buy resale with different names but any variance on registration will keep you from being able to link the points to your present contracts.

That is a good point. As much as she hated to do it, my Mom left one of my brothers off our contract. We have an agreement among ourselves that he is included in the ownership. But with his financial problems, there is no way he could have been included in the contract.

My brother and I are both listed as owners (with different addresses, of course). The only thing about it that makes me a little nuts is that they have NEVER (ever) sent the reservation confirm to me when I have made a reservation...even when they assure me it will go to my address and confirm my address over the phone. I am talking about probably 8-10 different times over the past five years...the silly thing about this is that my address is clearly listed on the confirmation that they mail but they always mail it to my brother (whose address is also listed). You would think at the very least they could send duplicate confirmations. My brother and I get along just great so he always forwards it to me but it seems DVC could figure this out after so many years!!!

As I understand it, confirmations can only be sent to a single address on each account--the listed primary owner/contact.

They will only use one address per contract for all mailings.

They've managed to send all my reservation confirmation to my parents' address (the main one on the contract), but manage to send me any promotional material, like the recent 15% referral incentive. So if they can do that, why can't they also send me my confirmation info? It's not a big deal, just a minor inconvenience, but a bit frustrating at the inconsistancy.

Confirmations, dues statements, etc. are "official", legal mailings. Promotional materials are not.

My husband I just bought DVC. I was told you can have up to 6 names on the deed. I put my 2 brothers on it also. They are listed as joint tenants with the right of survivorship and not as tenants in common.
Just know that if you are adding family members that you are only able to buy 8 AP at the DVC member price.

If you're saying 8 only per year, that is incorrect.

Dean,
That is what my guide told me. :confused3
What is the correct number?
Since they've recently rearranged the members website I don't see the actual rules at the present time though the FAQ site is there. Previously the wording was that a member could buy up to 8 passes at one time for "immediate family members" with an ID for the same address as that member. There is a list of who qualifies as an immediate family member. But if there are multiple owners with multiple addresses, it would be 8 per each transaction for all that meet the other criteria. It might be only 4 or 32 depending on the makeup of the family and addresses of those involved. Obviously it opens the door to title the contracts in such a way specifically to qualify for the discount. Obviously these are "rules" that could change any day as well or the perk could evaporate tomorrow.
