Hi-

I'm currently a DVC Owner... my first 160 pts. were purchased via Re-sale and then purchased an additional 50 via Disney Directly.

So I have one account and two contracts.

My question is, can I purchase another contract via re-sale and then combine them into my account.

I once heard Disney tries to make this very difficult if not impossible to prevent people from adding points to the Acct. via re-sales.

Thanks.

My understanding is as long as you purchase the same UY as your Disney Contract and the name(s) on the contracts match exactly there should be no problem combining them into one contract.:lmao:

Have not heard DVC tries to prevent this scenario ....just that resale must be same UY as your master contract and with names listed exactly same and DVC should be alerted that resale should be attached to your master as add-on ( believe this is usually noted by resale agent but you can probably speak to an administrator if you'd like reassurance ).

:goodvibes

I have 6 resale add-ons, 2 resorts but one use year, and all are in one master contract. Disney was no problem. I asked re-sale agents (I used 3 different companies at various times) to make sure the points were all under one master contract.

Both of our contracts were bought resale. We first purchased OKW then bought BCV. Disney changed the BCV contract to have the same use year as our OKW contract.

I did not know Disney would change a UY on a new resale purchase to match the UY of an older purchase. :goodvibes To have that done, did you speak with your guide or someone else? Thanks for the info.

It is their goal and to their advantage to combine them if possible. As noted, must be the same UY and EXACTLY the same names. Can't add another person or change it due to divorce or marriage and link them up. But they sometimes don't realize or something happens, they will not fix it after the fact. I've NEVER heard of them changing the UY on a resale before so I suspect this was a one time thing. For this to happen they likely had a matching contract and swapped them out as I don't think they can change the UY on a given ownership.

We bought our first contract (AKV) from Disney, then added on with a BWV resale that already had the same use year. We did combine them under one contract, which turned out to be no trouble once they got the names on the resale contract straight. (We had an ongoing saga with mis-spelled names that all came out fine in the end.)

We were told they only add a resale to an existing contract when all names are exactly the same, and the UY is the same.

We did not speak with anyone it was just done that way. I thought it was something that Disney did to make it easier if your use year was the same.

I have two contracts: BCV (Dec. UY) and VWL (Aug. UY). If I were to buy an add-on at AKV from Disney, I assume (1) I'd need to tell them whether I wanted Dec. or Aug. and (2) that the new add-on would become a part of the master contract with the same UY even though it's a different resort. By the same token, if I were to buy the third resort via resale (in either of my UY), the resale could still be folded into the appropriate master. Is this all correct? (I understand that the names would have to be exactly the same in both instances.)

Correct with the caution that it's possible the resale contract MIGHT not be combined and the assumption that the names (all the names) were exactly the same.
