Can a child use an adult ticket?

So I have an extra 2 day adult ticket left over from our trip last year when my oldest decided not to go. It expires at the end of this year and I'd like to use it on our upcoming trip in December, but we now have season passes. A friend and her kids are joining us for two days in the middle of our 5 day trip and I'd like to offer to let her youngest, who is good friends with my youngest and who will be in the park for her first time, to stay with us for an extra two days at the end of their trip. To further complicate matters, the ticket is a So-Cal resident ticket and while I qualify, my friends daughter does not.

Yes, anyone can use a full priced Adult ticket. So you can use it,or opt to take it to the ticket windows, where they will allow you to take the price paid for the original ticket and apply it towards any other ticket/PH/AP that is worth the same or more than what was originally paid. Sounds like you wouldn't do that, but still worth a mention.

It is a one park per day ticket, maybe I'll try to upgrade to a child hopper since we can hop with our passes.

Sounds like a good plan,what is the worse case, they say no,and you can still use it as originally issued....

But the basic Disney ticket policy, no refunds, so no reducing the ticket to get money back, and for expired tickets, it is the price originally paid towards a new ticket that is equal or worth more, so for many folks, they have to pay a few dollars due to price increases to get the same tickets. But.IMHO, a fair policy.

(And yes, Disney will refund tickets in rare cases, such as a death in the family, but handled on a case by case basis).

Good to know. I kind of figured an expired ticket was worthless. I guess I've been jaded from many corporate policies. It's nice to know I can hold on to it if my current plan doesn't pan out.

While Disney doesn't have to do it, the policy is extending the courtesy but wanting the price increase. Of course, the policy is not officially announced and subject to change at any time.
