Hi! We’ll be down in June and all the kiddos want to dress up for Galaxy’s Edge and I was wondering about the mask that would come with a Kylo Ren costume. Will a 7 year old be allowed to wear it? I know adults can’t wear masks but wasn’t sure about the little ones. Thanks!:yay:

No. Not normally, and especially not during COVID. Costumes are allowed during the Halloween Parties, but even then:

For Guests ages 13 and under:
  • Costumes and some masks may be worn; masks must provide unobstructed peripheral vision at all times with openings that allow the eyes to be fully seen.

Not permitted attire includes:

All robes or military-style attire

Masks, face paint, elaborate headwear, blasters or holsters (lightsabers are allowed) or hard items such as body armor, helmets or kneepads

Full character suits

Check with Disney directly. He is only 7. Obviously he won't be mistaken for the real character.

There are costume guidelines on MDE app and last time I checked our 6 year old was able to dress in costume when we go to WDW in July. Be aware there is an age cut off.

Just double checked the age is 13 and under CAN wear costumes with unobstructed views.

If your son isn't allowed to wear a Kylo Ren costume during your trip the next best thing you could do is check your stores for a Kylo Ren plush and Funko has one that is cute and your son could carry his plush Kylo Ren around Galaxy's Edge and I guarantee you your son will get lots of high praise for everybody
Glad to help you Rigby

I saw a kid wearing a costume last week at Disneyland but he may have changed at the park. I doubt they can wear a mask covering their whole through the gate, since they need a picture.

Has there been lots of little kids dressing up for Galaxy’s Edge? My son got a Luke costume and our friends have settled on the Mandolorian and Yoda. Hoping they’re not the only ones in costume. And the more kids dressed up the cuter it’ll be for sure. :yay:

What if he dresses as an Ewok 😉

OP I would personally try talking him into wearing a shirt or something.
the mask can’t be worn, which imo is what makes Kylo Ren Kyle Ren but the real reason is most costumes don’t breathe well and get very hot inside
