I'm wondering from those who are back from a trip with the DDP who are 2 adults whether they were able to eat just what was supplied on DDP without sharing. I've dne DDP with kids in the past and had so many extra credits. This time we are just 2 adults and I was going to just use them all up at the beginning and pay at the end if I have to. We won't go over on table service I don't think but I wondering if I'll need to pay for the other CS meal per day. I'm wondering if my use it all at the beginning method will prove to be expensive or if the DDP will pretty much cover me. :confused3

We don't find any need to share. We schedule our TS ADRs, always for dinners so far, and we use CSs for lunch. Last trip we had several CSs (3 on a 5-day trip) left over. Part of that was because DW was sick one day and didn't eat lunch, the rest was due to the fact that we just didn't eat if we weren't hungry around lunchtime.

I think the only reason we would share would be if we were planning a 2 TS meal, but even then I think we'd probably do a "heavy" CS dinner rather than sharing.

Of course, a lot of people just like to share because they don't want to eat so much food. I would never worry about not having enough food on DDP!

But, in my case, I know that if I tried to share off DW's plate at Le Cellier, she'd pin my hand to the table with her steak knife!

I think from this statement you mean that you plan on having 2 CS meals and a TS meal per day? So breakfast, lunch and dinner?

In that situation I wouldn't spend all of the CS meals at the beginning and pay at the end. Instead I'd probably pay out of pocket for the breakfast meals since they're usually cheaper. Or maybe even use snack credits for some breakfast items and suppliment it by paying OOP.

We used this strategy two weeks ago, but way overestimated how hungry we would be. Our party of 4 left with at least six unused CS meals. Next time we are going to use our CS and snack credits first. We did not have DH with us though, he eats 3 full meals a day and snacks in between.

I think the only way to do this is to share your CS credits each day. Get one breakfast combo with one of your CS credits and share the meal. Do the same with your lunch planning.

If either or both of you are big eaters, then this won't work, but I think the meals are definitely big enough to share.

We actually never really ate breakfast the whole time we were there. For the 11 days, we would eat lunch around 11.30 - 12:00 (sometimes back at the resort). Then we would have supper around 6.00 - 7:00. We were still so full the next morning from supper we could all wait for lunch. However someone morning my ds14 would be hungry for something small so since I am not a big eater, I would typically get a container for grapes as my desert (this was at the pop resort) and we would keep them in the room and he would eat them the next morning. I would tide him over till lunch. The day we were leaving we had 8cs left and 14 snacks. Used the snacks up at goofys and used 3 for lunch and used 3 at sandwich of earl for the plane ride home. With the other two, I found someone in the food court and paid for there meal. (yes they are on the dining plan and said they would do the same thing if they had some left over)

Actually, I was the same way. Breakfast, if eaten, was a pop tart and milk or juice on the way to the bus stop.

Thanks for your replies. I don't know if we'll be hungry for bfast every day. And I'm thinking that if we do eat a big breakfast maybe we won't really want lunch... I think I'll pretty much just use them up at the beginning although I'm likely to share a bfast if we do get one because they're kind of big and I don't eat that much for bfast. Thanks again!

I agree , share a breakfast and share a lunch, you can always buy another snack if you are hungry before dinner or share another meal on the days you are hungry. Or do what we did bring donuts and boxes of cereal and disposable bowls and spoons and just buy some milk at your resort store. Have that for breakfast . Or have your dessert from dinner the night before for breakfast the next morning, then you can still each have your own lunch. It is alot of food. enjoy!
