Can 18 year olds be alone in a room?

We were wondering if when our DDs turn 18 (twins), can we book a studio for them and then a studio for us? Are they allowed at that age to be alone in a room?

Next year (when they are 17) I am thinking of getting a lock off 2 bedroom and letting them have the 'studio' part and we take the 1 bedroom (but two studios are less points).

Oh...and if we do that next year...can they access the studio part of the 2 bedroom with their KTTWs without going through the 1 bedroom part? Or does everyone have to enter through the 1 bedroom part when you book a lock off as a 2 bedroom? (we have only had studios, 1 bedrooms and dedicated 2 bedrooms, so have never been in a lock off 2 bedroom).

Thanks!
DJ

Yes, they can have their own room at 18. Until that time, they'll need to stay in a room (like the 2 bedroom lock-off) with an adult.

All the keys will open both entry doors in a lock-off, so they can come and go as they please from the studio portion.

You sound like me, but I'm the daughter. Next year I'll be getting two studios when travelling with my parents as sharing a room with them is not an option. They both snore way too much. :lmao:

In my opinion, 18 year olds should not be allowed any freedom of action! :lmao: My daughter will only be allowed to have privilages when she turns 30, and then MAYBE she can date someone

Seriously, if your daughters are 18, then they are legal adults and are held responsible for their own actions. They can vote and join the military, so as a society, we can trust them in their own room. You, however, may have better insight into this than us unwary visitors ;) I would suggest getting them a room at OKW, while you and DH get a room at AKV, so they won't barge in and demand things...like money. :thumbsup2

Good luck!

LOL! Well I was going to get us rooms in the same resort, but hey, maybe being at different resorts wouldn't be a bad idea! :rotfl:

But no, really, I do want to spend time with them, they just like to sleep different hours than us and I don't like listening to them argue (they don't think it is a big deal and they can go from arguing to laughing in no time flat, but I get tired of hearing it).

30? You are being too darn liberal for me.

A reminder that suggesting ways around Disney/DVC policies is not permitted on the DVC Boards. I've had to delete post that either suggested such, or quoted the suggestion.

Thanks

oops! Sorry! Seriously, I think letting my girls have the lock off part of the 2 bedroom would be a good 'test' for them anyway, so that is what we will be doing when they are 17.

I love it!! that is what I did last year. I booked my daughters a studio at OKW staying in the same building as my sister and her family while we stayed at AKL!! (my girls were 21 & 24 last year)

I'm traumatized enough at the thought of my twins turning 6 and going to grade 1 next week. I'll be happy if I make it until they're 18 at this rate.:rotfl:

We've done something like this for the Big Family Gathering. Older adults are at AKV, and the younger ones (all in their 20's) are at BLT. ;)
