Can 1 person stay in 2 rooms at the same time?

This might seem an odd question, but I'll explain.

I'm a member at the BWV, and that is where I prefer to stay, but I would like to rent a studio at BCV for one night so my children can use SAB. According to the rules this will actually allow them to use SAB for two full days, since they can use it all day on both check-in and check out.

Has anyone done this? With such a request confuse the Disney people no end?

Thanks.

p.s. My personal opinion is that if BWV owners can't use the BCV pool, then BCV owners ought not be able to use the BWV pool. But that is another thread.

Are you asking if you can have a reservation for BWV and BCV on the same night, and check-in at both rooms and, basically, occupy both rooms? The answer I believe is yes...but I would question the value of paying at least 12 points for a BCV studio just to swim in a pool....water is water, you'll get just as wet at BWV.

You misunderstand. You CAN use the BCV pool. That pool is located over by the villas themselves.

You CANNOT use SAB which is not technically a BCV pool, but a BC/YC/BCV pool.

There's a difference.

Although I wouldn't necessarily equate the two. Is there a lazy river or a whirlpool or a sandy bottom at BWV? I know the appeal of SAB is very strong for my family, and we haven't been able to find another pool on WDW property that provides the same experience, although as you say, we do get equally wet in each one!!!

If you have the money you can rent and stay in as many rooms that you want. My family & my brother and sisters family also don't agree water is water when it comes to BC. The BC,YC,BCV pool is something by itself can't match to any other resort as nice as they all are.

Actually, many of the listings of exclusions for pool hopping I've seen include all pools at the YC & BC including the quiet pools. While not all listings I've seen over the years are this specific, I believe the policy is that PH is not allowed at ANY pool at the YC or BC. Some of the listings I've seen have actually named the BCV pool by name as an exclusion. This is how it's currently listed on the website.
Pool hopping is not available at Uzima Pool at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts or at the leisure pools of these two Resort hotels. There are no exceptions to this policy.

But what happens if the day you rent that BCV studio, you have torrential rainstorms, thunder and lightning or extra cold temps? SAB is closed.

You can watch the weather and cancel up until the day before. Possible rescheduling for later in the stay when the weather is projected to be better. Worst case scenario should be a few points in a holding account.

The OP does not mention how many children she has, but since a studio holds 4, she will have 4 room keys hence 4 wrist bands to obtain admission at Stormalong bay.

Personally I think it would be easier to just visit a water park on a nice sunny day, like Blizzard Beach.

To answer the existential question asked as the title of this thread...

No, you cannot stay in two rooms at the same time unless you are having one of those parallel universe type of experiences.

You can certainly book two rooms at the same time though.

Sorry, the thread title struck me as funny and I couldn't resist. :p

And I agree with Dean in that I believe the quiet pool at BCV is off limits to pool hopping as well...at least that's what I've heard.

Mississippian....I am in the camp of Maistre Gracey and others who espouse that the best use of your points is what makes your family the happiest. If you have enough points, and this works for you, then have at it!!

One other option might be to actually book the night as your last night (or first) and then move over to BCV. A bit of a hassle but it would save you the extra points.

June 10th, a Saturday, we booked BCV for 1 night. On Sunday morning at 9:30 we checked into OKW, and our room was ready. So technically, DH and I both had valid resort keys in 2 resorts. The BCV room key worked the resort gate at the guardhouse when we went to the Cape May Clambake on Sunday night. You are OK to use the resort through midnight of the check out date, I think. Things worked in a similar fashion, we were able to use the showers, lockers and pool at VWL once when we had a very late flight out. They took our resort key to hold the locker for us, I think that's how it went.

To add to this thought, I know of several people who are DVC members just for this purpose. They stay off site and then reserve a studio to get 2 days access to the pools and other onsite amenities like early entry, even DDP now. Sometimes they'll schedule multiple days during a stay though only one day at a time. Besides using the pool and onsite amenities, they use the room to grab a quick nap or shower or even for changing before and after the pool. While an extra charge in a way, it can be much cheaper than buying DVC to stay on property. Depending on the people in question they either just own a small contract, rent out their additional points or alternate on site vs off sites stays.

I'm finding this discussion very intriguing. I had never though about using points like this. I'm going to have to seriously think about this for our August trip.

you can always book that day when you arrive or want to use the pool if there's availability....

Here's my story.... I had friends meet me this past Aug. and they had a few too many drinks. I went to the front desk at BW and got them a standard studio at ten o'clock that night. I didn't want to "pre-book" a room because I wasn't sure if they were coming or not (and tie up points).
So you can book a room at anytime (if MS is open or not), and not tie up your points.

Thank you everyone for the info.

I'm not saying this is something I would want to do on a regular basis, but I've never gotten to use SAB and I think the kids would enjoy it. I don't want to have to pack and unpack repeatedly.

Given the amounts that folks spend on breakfast in the castle or a pontoon boat to watch fireworks from, I don't think $120 (12 points) is a totally unreasonable amount to spend for two day's access to SAB.

By my calculations, it's better to get five nights standard view in a 1 BR at BWV and get one night in a studio at BCV than it is to get five nights in a 1 BR at BCV.

It is cheaper to approach it that way. What about reserving the studio for the first or last night and just moving, saves you one nights points on the 1 BR. BTW, I agree with you that when people stay at BCV they should not be allowed to PH since others can't hop there. But in reality I doubt many actually use this opportunity so I doubt it makes much real difference.

FWIW.... DVC will NOT allow you to book two rooms with you name under them for the same night.

I tried this when we were booking two rooms for our family.

We were inviting family along and had to book at 11mos out, but we didn't have the names of those who could go with us (they're not used to knowing what they're doing 11 mos out)

I decided to just book the two rooms and put my name on both of them, but MS said that since I couldn't physically be in two rooms, they weren't allowed to put me down in two rooms.

I ended up just putting names on the rooms and then changing them once we figured out who was going.

I kind of did this in january. We stayed at SSR for sat and switched to BWV on sunday. I double booked sunday at both BWV and SSR so that I was not without a room and we spent the day at SSR's pool and used the studio to clean up after. Then we moved our stuff to BWV in the late afternoon.

It cost me 11 points to do this and to me it was worth it to not be without a room and be able to spend some quality time at the pool. The rest of my family thought I was crazy, and I don't know when/if I would do it again, but my baby was only 3 months old then and for peace of mind it was totally worth it.

Gosh, I think if I were paying extra for a good pool I would skip BCV and get a pass for Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach for the day. SAB is nice but no comparison to those. TL is a closer experience to SAB.

And I own and stay at BCV. It's nice, but not worth the money me thinks :)
