Hi:)

Does anyone know if one of your group can park hop & get fastpasses in DCA while the rest of you stay in Disneyland?

I'm thinking all the tickets will have to have been scanned at the turnstiles of DCA for you to be able to get a fastpass there, but I'm not sure.

Anyone ever tried this?

Thanks.

You would all have to go into DL together, one person take all park hoppers and go to DCA and give the park hoppers back before anyone can get into DCA

So, we could all go to Disneyland for Magic Morning & I could send DH (who doesn't like Disney, so I'm not being mean) to DCA to get fastpasses for RSR then he could rejoin us in Disneyland?

Well, it's alittle more complicated, he would have to have the PH scanned at DCA... It can be done. But he would have to enter the turnstile and have each PH scanned at DCA I believe....

Just so all the PH were scanned at either park...you can get FPs. So yes, you can all enter DL, he can take the passes and run over to DCA and get FPs then run back to DL to give you back your PH.

When went in August, I was told the park hoppers/tickets/ APs have to be scanned at the DCA entrance. Entering DL first and only 1 person running over DCA with everyone's tickets will not work.

The info in this thread is incorrect. So long as a pass has been scanned at any main entrance (DL or DCA), then the pass will be valid for Fastpass distribution at both parks. If they entered DL with it, you can use it to get Fastpasses in DCA.

...began with MMorning in disneyland. Then DH took all the hoppers to California. The only one that was scanned at California was his as he went through the gates. He then got us Fast passes for soarin' and world of color.

I didn't mean to give wrong info. This is what I was told while waiting in line for fast passes at RSR. I jumped out of line called dh and had him meet me st the esplanade so all the APs would have shown entrance into DCA. I didn't want to chance being denied a fast pass once I finally got to the front of the line. Sorry for the misinformation.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to reply.

As DH doesn't like Disney anyway I will punish him by making him our runner:rotfl2:

Agreed.

Nope. If ALL TICKETS have been scanned at either DL or DCA (which means everyone in the group has physically entered one of the two parks), they can be used at the opposite park for FP gathering without additional scanning. I have used this strategy myself many times. As have other around here. :)

:wizard:

The most common problem I have seen that doesnt work is when a family/group staying at one of the DLR hotels tries to send one person with all the passes to get the rest of them FP's while the others "sleep in" or are having breakfast. Like Hydroguy says ... "If ALL TICKETS have been scanned at either DL or DCA (which means everyone in the group has physically entered one of the two parks" you should be good.

They do tell you that. I don't know if they are misinformed, or if they are trying to thin down the line or what. My DH called me in a panic in the RSR FP line once because the CMs were going up and down the line telling everyone that if the ticket/AP hadn't been scanned at the DCA's front gate, it wouldn't work. I told him not to freak out and it would work. Of course, he doubted me. :rolleyes2 But I was right. Our tickets/APs had been scanned at DL, NOT at DCA, and worked just fine in the RSR FP machines. My DH had to eat crow on that one. ;)

I also want to add my voice that this strategy works. We do this almost every time we go. Family goes into DL, Dad is the runner to get WOC fast passes.

Yep, my hubby had the same thing. The cast members kept telling people that unless everyone was in DCA the tickets wouldn't work. The rest of us were in Disneyland. I guess a group of people started arguing with the cast members and telling them they were wrong, but the cast members kept insisting it wouldn't work. Well, my husband was able to get us all fast passes so I guess we know who was wrong ;)

So are the two fastpass systems for the park linked? As in you can't get a FP in DL if you have current FPs for DCA?

Thank you for letting me know that I wasn't imagining things. I knew in the past years that so long as you entered one park, you get get fastpasses at the other park. But with how crazy busy DCA has been because of Carsland, I thought they may have tweaked the fastpass dispensers. Oh well, lesson learned.
