That is so cool, kudos to you and your family! Way to step outside you own world and help another, not everyone will do that. I have some cousins that participated in SO, it meant a lot to them. We had the Winter Special Olympics here in 2002, along with the regular Winter Olympics, a lot of the volunteers did both events, and said SO was the best part!
Thanks, Don! It is so true that working with SO is amazingly fulfilling and fun! Every person I've ever recruited to volunteer has stayed involved, including a former client from out of state who shows up to cook every year at summer games without any contact from me at all. This year another attorney I work with from out of state came down and helped and has already asked me the dates for next year. She loved it. (It helps that she is really really pretty with the hugest smile and many of the athletes just fell in love with her -- she is such a sweetie!

hope everything is going well for you--hows that exercise going??
Hi, Jen! So nice to have you back! Exercise is going well, but very restrained due to the strict Marathoning for Mortals Walk the Half program (MfMWtH) -- this week starts slowly, but that is probably good right now. Tonight I have to do 30 minutes cross-training (think I'll take a good book to the Y and ride the bike and do some arm weights) and then 2 miles walking tomorrow morning. It is supposed to be very rainy, though, so not sure if I will go outside or if I'll head to the Y again and try it on the treadmill.

Congratulations Cam,
I know you don't volunteer for the credit, but it is always nice to be recognized for our hard work. It is wonderful news.
Take care,
Beth
Thanks, Beth!
Did pretty well on food yesterday and was pretty conscientious about making every point be of nutritional value until dinner out last night. Applebee's was great and there were so many families there from DS's school -- the comaraderie is amazing. The waitstaff commented on how friendly the families were, mingling and laughing, and how polite the boys were. It was great. I had WW onion soup au gratin (3) and a mixed greens salad with some grilled chicken and no dressing (2) and the WW chocolate raspberry cake (4). I also had a couple of DS's fries and a bite of his chicken cheese quesadilla (2). If I were going to call any of it empty points, it is probably the cake and the "bites" for a total of 6. Sounds bad, but I didn't eat any junk food at all during the day, so I am not going to beat myself up about it. And I drank 112 oz water. Glad to put it behind me.
I'm so glad it is Friday. For some reason, I am just so ready for a break. It will be a busy weekend, though. Tonight I need to get in 30 minutes cross-training so I'll probably head to the Y to use the bike and maybe some weights. Wanna be home in time for "Three Wishes" at 9.
Tomorrow a.m. I have to get in my 2 mile walk, then get DD17 to SATs, stop at DunkinDonuts for 2 boxes of coffee for the cross-country meet that DS's school is hosting, take him to his meet and work the snack table, probably until about 11:15, pick up DD at noon, take her to marching band, chaperone the band for a competition, and probably get home around 7 pm. Of course, much of this depends on how bad the rain is, so we will hope for the best.
Sunday is DH's 15K race in the early a.m. and I am going with him. Then, we were supposed to do Six Flags Fright Fest with some friends, but Judy is still in a cast so I think we will do a movie and dinner instead up near their house in North Jersey.
