Well this is more of a ride report than a full blown trip report- but here goes anyway. My 6yo daughter has decided she is really into roller coasters now. Saturday it was Space Mountain for the first time- and today it was Expedition Everest.

Here she is in the queue- my big girl! No fear even with us teasing her about the Yeti a little. (And I am very honest with her about these rides BTW- telling her it goes backwards, it feels like you are upside down, etc. No 'Don't worry abou it - its fine' from me.)

Riding without holding on is always a big deal for her on the Barnstormer, Big Thunder Mountain, and Test Track- and I think she did it most of the way on Space Mountain also- so she is determined to do it here too. Here is us pulling away from the ride start. She wanted to sit by her 14yo cousin- not me :sad1:

Here is one going up the mountain as the sun is coming over it. We got there early and the stand-by was only 20min so we went ahead and got straight on.

Here is another I thought was interesting on the way 'up'- pardon my arm in the shot :)

And here we are at the top of the world. I think the picture says it all- particularly the eyes. :scared1:

And here we are screaming backwards down the mountain- post Yeti sighting I think. Not exactly sure where her hands are now :confused3 :rotfl:

And safe on the ground a few seconds later- telling Mom (who will never ever ride it) all about it. Mom did pick her up an Everest Pin for her collection but I forgot to get a picture of it. She was a hapy camper.

She loved it so much we went and got fast passes to ride it again in the afternoon- but sadly it was broken down when we returned with some folks stranded at the top. Maybe next time.

I guess next we will be setting our sights on the Rn'R & ToT...:woohoo:

Very cute picture/ride report. Your DD is adorable and very brave.

What a great idea - writing a report on a specific ride! I love it! :thumbsup2 What a brave girl your DD is. I was crying and screaming like a baby on EE. :lmao: Love the photos, great job!

Thanks all- Yes I'm very proud of her.

:thumbsup2 Good for her!! :thumbsup2

I don't have pictures but I wish I had audio of my daughter's (13) first ride. She screamed from the time we pulled out of the station until we pulled back in again. And she definitely wasn't as brave as Camryn - her hands were on the bar at all times!!:lmao:

So glad I found this thread! You got some really GREAT pics! I went on EE for the first time in Sept. 06. I wish I could say that I was that brave. Below is my account of the ride from my trip report.

We board the train - we are in the next to last car. OH NO! I heard that the back is the fastest during the backwards part! But I don't say anything. I just pray (Jesus don't let us die or get sick). So the ride starts to go up the hill. I calm myself by saying, "now you've watched the ride video a MILLION times, pretend you're watching it". I even comment on how we will be able to see the other parks when we get to the top of the hill. The man behind us is spouting out a bunch of facts. Come to find out, he is the guy who has been on it over 500 times! One thing he said was that the ride is 9secs faster during the afternoon, because ot the heat on the tracks.

We get to the part where it's about to go backwards (Jesus, PLEASE don't let me get sick, Jesus, can you see me?). It starts out a little slow, ok, I can handle this . . . then it speeds up . . . I'm still okay . . . then it seems like its ending . . .GREAT! I surviv- AHHHHHHHH it's not over!!!!!! I feel my organs cease functioning. They are confused. However, I still have oxygen in my brain, so I'm able to think, even though I know I am clinically dead. At least no one will have to find my Mother after the ride to tell her I'm dead, because she is beside me - I'm comforted in that . . . I think I black out . . . IT STOPS!!!! Thank you JESUS!!!!! When we come out of the mountain, my eyes slam shut, my stomach drops a bit - but NOT LIKE ON TOWER OF TERROR - my butt comes out of the seat a bit . . . then we're going back into the mountain. I realize that the hard part is over. I try to smile, but realize there is NO spit in my mouth. So what! At least it's over.

We bought the picture. I was was wearing knee-length men's basketball shorts. In the picture, they look like Daisey Dukes! HA!

So there it is! I hope you let your daughter read this so she'll know how brave she really is! :thumbsup2

GMax - I love your report on the ride!! I'm not into roller coasters at all, but I really want to ride this one - go figure!!

Jeff - Camryn is very brave! When I look at roller coasters, I try to clarify it in my mind by saying to myself that children ride these rides! Disney would not let anything bad happen to me!!! Remember - children ride these rides!!!:rotfl: I am a big chicken!!!
Thanks for the pictures and report - great idea..;)

Heather

Glendamax, your photo is priceless, I also love the guy on the back left, who left The World's Strongest Man out, check him out showing his muscles...lol
