We love camping and are considering trying out FW next summer!! When I try to price it out on the site, every weekend from now through July says no availability...how far in advance do the sites sell out?

How many people are you allowed per site and how does the price compare to the values? I'm hoping to try it soon...

Same thing here...but I'm looking for October this year. It'll be our first time staying in an RV, we usually stay in the cabins. I usually look for FL rates 2 months before my planned date and it always works out. So I'm hoping the'll be discounted rates up by next month. I'd wait or call reservations directly.

BTW Fort Wilderness is a load of fun, always a great time. I'm sure your going to love it.

They are not sold out, call reservations and you probably get better information, you can usually book 1 year out..

You can book 499 days out from your check out date. Weekends in the summer are usually fairly full/sold out due to locals visiting for weekends.

10 people allowed per site which includes 2 adults. Above 2 adults incurs and extra charge ($2 I think) per extra adult. From what most people report, if you declare extra adults when you make the reservation you are usually charged, but if you add them at check in you are usually not charged.

The Disney reservations system is biased against short reservations. Many times if you look for a 2 day reservation it will show no availability, but if you look for a 10 day reservation which includes the exact same original 2 days it will show availability. Book the 10 days and call back a couple of days later to cancel the "extra" days. Strange, but it usually works.

I think Disney may have changed this policy, I looked all over their website for the extra adult charge info, the resorts have it disclosed in the room and rate tab but there was no info for FW campsite extra adult charges. I called my oldest DS who is a CM at the res center, he checked the HUB and said it looked to him like there is no longer extra adult charge for the campsites. I then called and added my second son to my ressie, he is 23 yo (he would be the third adult in my party), I asked the CM if adding another adult changed my rates and she said no, there are no extra adult charges for FW campsites and my balance due remained the same.

Oct. is also a popular time at the Fort due to all the Halloween stuff going on. I booked 499 days out (booked on June 23) to get Halloween for 2012.
I did get a AAA discount and Oct is value season, the cost was 63 for weekdays and 68 for weekends for a premium site.

The earlier you book, the better.
However, don't give up hope. People often book more days than they actually need and will eventually cancel part of their reservation.
Keep trying. Be persistent.
Good Luck!
