Hi everyone! Hope someone can help me. This is my first post on the camping board.

Does anyone know if the gift shop at Fort Wilderness sells any type gifts related to camping? We're head to WDW in two weeks (always stay at the DVC resorts as we are DVC members) and I'm looking to get my parents some camping type WDW souvenirs. They recently bought an "Airliner" (I think that's what my mom calls it).

My parents have ton of other type WDW souvenirs, but nothing related to camping as they are relatively new to camping.

I'm guessing there must be some great stuff in the gift shop there. Can anyone confirm & recommend anything?

Thank you!

Do you mean "Airstream?"

Anyways, not really, no. It has been a source of frustration for many of us, but there just isn't really anything camping specific at the stores at FW. The only thing I can think of is a spare tire cover, but I'm not even sure that's offered anymore and many newer campers don't have the spare visible anymore.

Welcome to the camping boards!

Unfortunately, you are a couple of years too late with this question.

They used to sell a lot of interesting camping type stuff at the Fort Trading Posts. Things like spare tire covers, door mats, coffee mugs, dishes, bowls, pots, pans, key chains, zipper pulls, you name it. But, that stuff has all disappeared in the last few years.

Now, the Trading Posts have the same merchandise that you will find in all of the other WDW gift shops. About the only thing you'll find with the name Fort Wilderness on it will be some of those pins for pin trading.

Sorry to say, unfortunately, NO. Up until about a year ago (maybe 18 months), they had a great selection of Fort Wilderness themed camping items (floor mat, spare tire cover, magnets, stickers, hitch receiver cover, coffee mugs, throw blankets, etc.). However, they have discontinued most resort specific merchandise.

Now, one thing they do have and what I have done, is at World of Disney and at most any other gift shop at WDW is they have a huge selection of "Body Parts" themed kitchen items. (Mickey Hands, Feet, Ears, Pants). They have dishes, cups, bowls, serving items, dish towels, hot plates, drawer pulls, etc. They also have Mickey themed bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths that can be monogramed.

There used to be some Mickey Mouse themed bed linens available. Although not sold at Disney any longer, I found a set on eBay.

Welcome to the camping boards ! :woohoo:

l'd like to suggest that you make your own camping type WDW souvenirs to give to your parents.

Maybe put some water inna bottle and mark on the bottle "Ft.Wilderness Snow",

or put some dirt inna small bag/box and write on it,
"Ft.Wilderness Instant Mud Pie Mix" "(just add water)"

The Lodge still has a few "Wilderness" items (photo frames, etc.). You might want to take a look over there.

Thank you for your replies everyone.

During our trip, I think we will head over to FW & definitely checkout the lodge to see what/if anything is there. That stinks that they have discontinues sellling so much "resort specific" items. I would love to get my parents something pertaining to camping, see how my mother is so excited about her new "toy".

I did ask her again what it is called & she says it's an "A-liner". Hmmm....wonder if she has that right!

She could be right, who am I to say? I just thought maybe there was some confusion due to the fact that an Airstream trailer tends to look like an Airliner.

What the Fort?

You people have never heard of an Aliner before?

Duh!

Here's one:

They are very cool pop-up campers.

So, OP, your dear old mother does know what she's talking about.

Your mother was right an "A-Liner when set up looks like a triangle or the letter A.....I was disappointed in FWR we just got back....everything is too spread out....wouldn't want everything ontop of each other but 2 spread out for me.....and WAY 2 EXPENSIVE....bring ALL YOUR FOOD from home.....don't buy food at FWR....went to Trails End resstraunt buffet cost 2 adults 1 12 yr old and a 4 yr old $79.00.....TAKE ALL YOUR FOOD FROM HOME....$6.00 for a pack of ham for sandwiches because forgot to pack.....the parks were awesome...
