So, having just returned from Disney this month I wouldn't naturally be looking so soon. However, our friend leaked some very enticing information (free dining Plan) and I am researching Disney all over again :)

We have been discussing the possibility of a larger camping excursion (in Ontario) this summer and now we are confused.

We have done just about everything there is to do at Disney over the past 2 trips and are the type of family to go, go, go...so we are open to the idea of a more relaxed vacation this time around.

If the dining plan is included for campers (and includes sit down meals) would take up a little more time, which is fine by us.

But we are struggling to know whether we should camp at Disney or if this is an insane option considering all of the other things there are to do whilst there??? Any thoughts?

Are the camps located in an accessible spot as far as buses, shops, etc go?

Is it well lit or difficult to get to late at night?

Would we annoy our neighbours coming in with a (sometimes loud) 2 year old that may or may not be awake?

Apart from the campfire with Chip and Dale, we haven't really seen very much over there...and would definitely appreciate some feedback.

We have stayed at Pop Century on each of our previous trips and would consider returning there if camping was out.

Cheers! x

From what I have read Free Dining is not for campers unless you stay in a cabin. Either way it is a plus just going to Disney (Fort or POP)

Actually you can get any of the dining plans as a package with a campsite, but you generally cannot get FREE dining. :(

Guess I am asking 2 separate things here.

I see that free dining may or may not apply to campsites, but we have looked at the campsites over the years and would also like to know what it is like staying in a campsite at Disney vs. a resort.

Thanks for the responses, either way.

To me, being at the campground is like heaven on earth!!!

Yes the buses/boats go to the campground and a bus runs through the campground straight to your loop

Is it well lit or difficult to get to late at night?

The loops have low yellow lights all around, I would carry a mini flashlight and maybe put some lights at your campsite on a timer

Not a problem at all

Apart from the campfire with Chip and Dale, we haven't really seen very much over there...and would definitely appreciate some feedback.

There are all kinds of games for the kids during the day at the pool, there are horse rides, pony rides, not to mention they are totally remodeling the pool with a great slide. There are great trails, you can see the fireworks and Electrical Water Pageant from the beach every night, there are several great playgrounds throughout the campground, you can rent a golf cart or bicycles to go "looping" (you can also bring your own bikes or cart), you can also go fishing!!! There are boats to rent at the marina, there are canoes and paddle boats to rent at the bike barn. You can take a stroll or bike ride over to the Wilderness Lodge, or you can take a boat between the Campground, the Wilderness Lodge, and the Contemporary

We have stayed at Pop Century on each of our previous trips and would consider returning there if camping was out.

There is also just the wonderful relaxing feeling of being in a campground among the trees

Hope this helps!!

We dont use the metric alphabet down here so "neighbours" is supposed to be spelled "neighbors"

Just trying to help eh :thumbsup2
