Hello....I think I have read on here that Dec. weather can fluctuate. For those that have been there in Dec. what type of weather have you seen? We're in a pop-up so we're off the ground, but we don't have a heater so debating between camping and Pop Century. Thanks!

I don't know about the weather in December, but when we used to camp in a pop-up without a heater we bought a ceramic space heater for around $50. It is small and doesn't get hot to the touch and heats up the pop-up just great! If you want to camp, I would just invest in one of these heaters.

Depending on your temperature tolerances you could be in short sleeve shirt and shorts or long sleeve shirt with jacket and long pants.

A little heater is a good idea.

I've been in Dec 3 times and once in Jan. 1 Dec was unseasonably warm-90's during the day-never needed more than a T, another Dec was 80's during the day-again never more than a T, but the other Dec was 60's day and 30's night. I wish I had mittens. The Jan was a mix of 50/60/70 day and one night was 30's. You just don't know what you might get.

We got one of those little ceramic heaters for our rv, too. We have a propane furnace, but the heat blowing out from the low vents freaks out the dog. The ceramic heats the entire rv very well.

Go with pop centruy that way if it is cold you have heat and if it is really hot you have the AC in teh room.

I stayed at a value once--ASMu--and I'd almost rather drive north than do that again!

We use a ceramic heater, also have my heating blanket if needed.

I agree. Between our electric blanket and our space heater, we were always comfortable in our pop-up and even more so in our travel trailer.

Prepare for anything. One year we were down ther at Christmas time and it got down in the low 20's. It was cold!!!! Part of that week we were wearing shorts and the other part we were wearing and buying anything we could get our hands on.

We use to always stay at the Fort for the first 2 weeks of Dec. The weather is unpridictable really. Sometimes it is beautiful during the day and you can wear shorts and at night you need long pants and mittens.

We have a 36" fifth wheel and like others we use a floor heater or two (one in the bedroom) if it gets too cold. We have a propane heater but the electric heaters work just as well and save on Propane.

I would say pack for cool and warm weather.

As for the value resorts, we have stayed at AS, and AM, they are alright for a quick getaway, but to go there for a full fledge vacation, I would prefer the Fort!! JMO
