Hello Happy Campers!!!
Love the camping thread! Its been awhile since I've been on the Disboards ( to painful when you don't have a planned trip!!! ). We are thinking about going down to FW August 2007. Now I need your thoughts...... is WDW to crowded then ( pass trips early Nov, and early Dec. not to crowded), is it WAY to hot? This would be the first time camping there. O.K. we have a 27 foot travel trailer, so its not really "camping". I would rather go another time of year, but because of the long drive(all the way from Mass.), the kids would miss to much school if we did not go in the summer ( we are thinking 1.5 to 2 wks take our time driving). Come on...give me your thoughts!!!! :hyper:

"...is it WAY too hot?... That depends on how much you enjoy Heat and Humidity. My DW has no problem with H&H but I hate it. Will be 20yrs tomorrow that we moved here from up north, N.J., and I am getting better but not by much.

Summer is a time when many people can visit WDW with children since the kids are out of school so let's just say that crowds are not the smallest. Waiting in line on a H&H day can be very draining so make sure your air conditioner is working in your trailer.

If you have AC youll be fine at night but during the day you will get hot if your out at the parks. It will probably be in the 90's with a humidity 60% and above.

Middle to late Aug is a great time to go. Schools in the south are back to school by then and the crowds are lighter. It can be just as hot and humid there as it is in the northeast (sometimes it is hotter in nj than in fl) This is one of my favorite times to go.

We live locally and donac is right...the central florida schools are back in session in August so crowds during the week are lighter. However, it is HOT, HOT, HOT here. I took the children to Animal Kingdom in June and had trouble staying hydrated, even though we drank A LOT of water and being locals we're pretty used to the heat and humidity. And, not to be a drag, but late Aug and early Sept is when we peak for hurricane season (I can't remember the exact statistical peak date).
