This will be my first time to Disney and I want to bring my 11 and 14 year old along with my harley. I will be towing a 26 foot toy hauler and wanted to find out the best place to go and if the campgrounds are motorcycle friendly. Does anyone have any suggestions for a first timer?

thanks

Chuck

I can't see it as a big problem other than you will only be able to have 1 vehicle at the campsite at a time also as long as you don't have the typical harley pipes on your bike that drown out even the highest pitched whine of my 600CC racebike then I don't think others around you will have many problems with it. I don't recall ever seeing a bike parked at a site while we have been over there visiting the petting farm or at teh campfire etc so maybe somone else will have a better answer for you than I do.

FW is not really a great place to ride motorcycles, busses, golf carts, campers pulling in, kids, strollers, bikes etc...are all on the road and you may spend more time idleing than riding, plus the speed limit inside FW is 25mph. That said my dad does bring his bike sometimes but uses it to get around DW just not in the Campground except from his site to the exit.

FW used to have a "No Motorcycle" rule. They made people park them out in the parking lot. Has this changed? I don't recall hearing any motorcycles driving by on our last camping trip. :confused3

Motorcycles fall into the street legal motor vehicle category. So you can drive it to your site, you can drive it from your site to a park or downtown disney or off property, but you cannot take it to the petting zoo, TE, the pool, the campfire program, etc. Upon check in, you will receive a list of rules including vehicle classifications and where you can and cannot ride them.

I believe the rules listed in the rules they give you state no motorized 2 wheel vehicles are permitted in the campground.

Although I have never taken my Harleys to FW I have seen them there. BUT, you said you have a toy hauler so you will have to unload your bike before you get to your campsite as there is no way you can unload it after you are parked. The back side of most of the lots are sand for tents, UNLESS, you get lucky and get one of, only two, pull thru sites.

As I said I have never brought my Harleys to WDW, that's because the traffic around WDW is crazy ( for lack of a better word ) to say the least. I've been riding for 40 years and I have had no desire to ride in the Orlando area. I have attended Bike Week at Daytona Beach but I don't find riding in the Orlando area interesting. Besides, once your at WDW and FW, who wants to leave! :earboy2:

I doubt you will want to do much riding but I have seen bike there. Brad is right on the money with everything he said. I've never wanted to being my bike to WDW..there is just too much to do you can't fit it all in a day and ride too...Enjoy your trip...and if you do bring the bike...off load it before you make your site...and the truck will have to go back to the parkinglot to park the bike at the site...you and family can use Disney transportation to get to and from the parks easily!!!
