Campgrounds between Lake City FL and Ocalla, Fl.

We live in Southwest Georgia. This is our first time taking our camper to disney, driving by car take us about 5 hours so we figure about 7 hours pulling the camper. We are discussing going part of the way on Friday night so we will not have to (1) get up so early on Saturday morning or (2) get to the campground to far after check in. I wondered if anyone might know of any campgrounds between Lake City and Ocalla we could stop at for the night. We will be taking I75 up to Ocalla so would like for it to be something close to the interstate. It would also have to be somewhere we could check in late as we don't know when we could leave the evening dh does not get off work until 5:00 p.m.

I'm trying to find one too. I posted under "campground near gainesville". Tim5055 posted a link to Silver River state park. I don't know how to post a link but if you find my thread you can find it. It seems convenient to I75 but I haven't been able to get thru on the # listed. You can go thru reserveamerica.com for reservations. Non-refundable ressies, with a change charge.
There is a travelers campground somewhere in the alachua/gainesville stretch.

I just did a google search and found something else. google: campground directory for florida

it will display a map and choose central region, then select ocala. there are 3 campgrounds listed. I'm going to check out Ocala Ranch RV park. I need to figure out our trip on mapquest (we are starting out from a different point this time) to estimate where we will end up!!!

I found this site www.ocalaranchrv.com and the campground looks pretty good. While it's not FW (no trees) it will serve it's purpose for us. One nite stop and a pool for the kids to burn off some energy. They don't require a ressie and the winter settlers are leaving now so they have plenty of availability this time of year.
Take exit 341, turn right (west) go 1/2 mile and c.g. is on the right.

We stayed at the Ocala Ranch RV on our way to FW this past March. Very nice place.
