Update
Was able to add people to my Nov /Dec reservation. They are still working out the details of what they are doing.

just a heads up
disney is not allowing modifications to campground reservations starting sometime in October to include adding people to the reservation.

i called this morning to add people to a Nov/Dec 2022 reservation and was referred to guest services who was unable to add the guests. they could not even add guests to reservations in 2023. The CM I spoke with said they received notice of this last week and were having a meeting soon and he would try and get some clarification on the situation for me. he was not sure if this applied to the campground only or if the cabins were included.

gonna be a lonely trip to the campground for one if I can't add anyone 🥲🥲🥲

One of the bloggers posted something about this earlier today, it was currently for the Halloween time frame and possibly Christmas, too.

I think it starts with October and has no ending date right now. Could not even modify Mar 2023. Hopefully they will get it figured out

Found a blogger post but they had different dates. I think something else must be going on besides what Disney is saying as I’ve heard and experienced 3 different stories. Very sad

I am unable to modify my September reservation online. I want to add a day on the end, but I'm not going to call every day to check.

And a few weeks ago, I wanted to change the site type on my June reservation but I couldn't do it online, I had to call. The CM I spoke with said something about the availability we see online as guests may not be correct and that's why they are not allowing us to make changes online.

I don't know if that's true, but that's what I was told then.

But it's definitely something that goes back way before October 2022 timeframe.

The funny thing is, you can still book a new reservation online, you just can't modify.

The ability to modify online has been gone a while. This definitely has something to do with Halloween and possibly Christmas at the fort and only the campsites. I was told if I hadn’t done it 3 weeks ago I wouldn’t have been able to add someone to my Oct 23 reservation. I was able to add someone to my Oct 27 cabin reservation.
I wonder if they are having issues with people adding guests to the reservation but the added people not actually staying at the campground but getting the benefits such as they are. This creates issues especially around the holidays I would guess

I can understand restricting the changes for dates around Halloween and Christmas, your theory makes sense. But I don't understand why I can't make changes to my June and September reservations online.

Thats's funny. CMs in the past used the excuse that they see the same thing we do. I guess it varies depending on what their need is. :hyper2:

The not being able to add on is going to piss off a lot of people. I'll book the siteway in advance and then have family/friends that want to tag along. That's one of the benefits of having a camper that sleeps plenty of people. If I book 12-18 months out, the only people I am assured are going is me and DW. And DW is iffy.

That’s my issue. I do the reserving of the site but don’t really know who is going til about 1 to 2 months out as it’s a group of friends not family so to speak

Do you think the powers-that-be are re-thinking the number of people allowed on each site? Isn't the current some ridiculous number? (10 I believe)
It is ten. I also think it's way too high because people abuse it by adding all their friends, family, and a few strangers as well... and that leads to a variety of other issues: too many vehicles in the loops, too many people crowding the main pool, restaurants, and boats to MK, etc. which impacts everyone's overall experience at the Fort.

i think that may be some of the issue. the most my RV can sleep is 8 and that's not adults 🤣 so we usually have 4. i know some sites have a RV and a tent so they are packing them in. it does get crowded. maybe allow 6 and charge extra unless immediate family (don't really know how they would do that though) and charge parking for second, third or more cars. i hate to suggest this but i know there are issues very sad it's come to this.

i told my husband that the Fort has become almost an attraction of its own for people not staying there especially during the holidays

Can anyone post the correct phone number to call in order to attempt to add/ delete people from a reservation? I’ve had an October reservation for over a year now, and have since found out one family member won’t be going that is listed on our reservation, and two other members that will be able to go that aren’t listed- thank you!

I just called the phone number listed on the website under plans. Good luck

I think this also has to do wvith the fact that travel agents are booking the majority of the sites during popular times creating scarcity so that you have to go through them to book a site. This is a big guest dissatisfier.
If last years October fiasco is any indication of the number it is about about a third of the sites. I know a TA who books a bunch of sites year round and then sells them to people in a facebook group. She has a number of sites for Memorial Day weekend.
Honestly I dont know why Disney even pays commission on Ft Wilderness bookings. Though that wouldnt stop site selling.

I guess this explains why I lost the ability to change my Oct 23-27 reservation a month or so ago and I was only able to add a date to the front by making a new reservation. Still haven’t found anyone to combine the two, but they made a note to keep us in the same site and the second reservation number.
