Campground prices

Hope you're having fun! Is it what you expected (other than price)?

No it did not go down as you said. I was quoted the 2012 rates when I made my reservation, $67 per night. That is what I paid. The 2013 rate is $72. That is the whole reason for the thread in the first place. I was quoted $67 but then when I looked at the campground rates a few weeks ago I noticed that the rates had gone up. So I was wondering if I would pay the rate I was quoted or the new rate.

You're confused because you are overlooking one thing.

The 2013 rates as posted on-line includes applicable taxes (occupational, sales, hotel lodging, goodness only knows what's piled onto that).

You see:

Like you, I have a 2013 visit planned to the Fort.

Like you, I made my reservation in November 2012.

Like you, I can see Disney's on-line rate calendar for 2013.

Unlike you, I still have my reservation email with the daily rates for each night listed in the ressie.

The daily rates are listed separately for each night and are totalled at the end.

Then the total taxes are applied in a single line item to get a grand total.

The daily rates as shown in my email are lower that what's shown on the on-line rate calendar by several dollar for the same days because the daily rates in my email are stated WITHOUT TAX (which is added later) while the on-line rates are stated WITH TAX as indicated on the pricing calendar.

I can tell you the details about the deposit if you want to know.

Ed, you are never going to convince this guy of anything. He doesn't want to be educated. He just wants to be right. It is amazing how worked up he got, and refused the best piece of advice he was given ... make a simple phone call. He could have saved everyone, and himself, allot of aggravation if he would have just picked up the phone and called Disney. You just can't save some people from themselves.

Sorry Ed you are wrong. The rates online quoted online were $67 without taxes. I paid $74 deposit, which is one night plus tax. The new rates were posted in January, $72 per night without taxes. No matter how you spin it you are wrong.

Are you always this rude? I never got worked up at all, where did you get that idea? I simply asked a question. I really don't care which rate they were going to charge me. If they would have charged me the new rate I would have changed my stay here to from 14 days to 7 days and gone to Universal the last 7 days instead. You really need to learn some manners. And you need to learn how to read. I already explained why I did not pick up the phone. And I thought people here were knowledgeable and polite. Instead some people are rude and some people are spin doctors.

Disney World is exceeding my expectations every day in every way. I am having a blast. The price is exactly what I was expecting.

No, the online rate (with some rounding) shows $73 for a weekday rate right now. The calendar was posted on-line in January 2013, yes, but the rates were available (and effective) to reservations made since last late summer/early fall.

So your tax-free rate was $67 and you paid $74 with the tax for the one night deposit. The new rates don't kick in when posted on line. The new rates kick in several months before that. So life is good.

Thanks Mcert01. My concern is for people reading this thread - I don't want them to make the same mistake.

My work here is done. :wave2:

popcorn:: These exchanges are getting too funny - reminds me of when my older two were in their early teens! They could argue until *the cows came home* and then would have to agree to disagree! :hyper2:

I LOVE that! Disney pleasantly surprised me and I always enjoy when others have a good time also!

But Bama Ed, it looks like you've only been to fort 15 times :thumbsup2so you're just trying to spin it, right?:rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::lmao:

Seilerbird, I do agree with you I think the price should be locked in. I love Disney and will pay what they ask, but I think when you book your rate it should stay that rate.
I'm glad you are enjoying your trip...

Now I am confused about my own reservation for July 2013! :confused3 I think the guest is always charged for taxes going up no matter where they stay! I didn't know the price of my campsite could go up! Are prices locked in if you pay for your room or package in full (what I did last time) instead of just paying for a one nights deposit, which is what I done this time?

My understanding is that prices are not guaranteed unless paid in full. But I have been known to be wrong before. Now how many women admit that?
