camper accident

hey everybody, i posted this on the camping forum as well, but i thought i'd tell you all that we had an accident on the way home from the world...it happenned in rock hill south carolina...we are driving a suburban pulling a 35ft travel trailer and caught wind from the approaching 18 wheeler coming down the off ramp at about 70mph..lost control and rolled our camper over. everyone is fine had dh driving my dmil in the front seat my ds in the middle seat with me and dd in the way back seat...camper swayed way over to my side of the suburban and hit my door and then twisted off the hitch and fell on to the right side. what a scary experience....now we are dealing with our loss, and insurance company....just glad we are all fine...dont know if we'll be pulling any camper real soon, or ever again to florida, but it wont stop us from coming to wdw...maybe we'll think about dvc....so for all you campers out there, DRIVE CAREFUL..and be safe...

How scary! I'm so glad everyone is okay. I know it can be such a pain dealing with all the insurance problems, but I'm relieved all of you are okay.

I hope it didn't destory all the other fun memories of your trip.

Oh my gosh!!! We have a 31 foot travel trailer pulled by a suburban!!! I am petrified everytime we go somewhere!! DH just screams at me to settle down on all our trips. He is just fine with it.

I am just petrified of exactly what happened to you happening. But also, I think it could pull the suburban over with it too....could it????

We never go far....Cedar PT is our furthest trip. We are suppose to be going away for a week next week with it.....now it is really going to be in the back of my mind.

Everytime I see a semi coming up from behind....I just tense up so bad!!!!! That's why I would love to get a 5th wheel.

all of you are great,thanks for caring....ps. lisal from mi.....weve traveled a dozen times and this is the first time something bad happened, i guess we'll just have to pray it never happens again, just take it slow and easy and you'll be fine...

I'm glad everyone is okay. We have a small camper trailer so we are higher than the trailer in our mini van. I still however worry about something like that happening.

That must have been unbelievably scary! We had a 24' travel trailer come unhitched once..... thankfully the chains held. Thank God you are all okay and nobody else was hurt either. (((hugs))) to you!

I'm so happy to hear that you are all okay - but what a nightmare experience that must have been!!!!

Good luck getting through all the paperwork and calls to the insurance company!
