Britannia: She winced when she heard that and looked at Eric for a second. "Sounds like you and whoever beat you up have some issues. Fighting does tend to solve a lot of problems. No matter what people say, it usually resolves some uncontrollable anger built up over time. He probably has it coming from someone else."

Eric, girls like Kari are too wide-eyed innocent to realize who exactly they're in love with, or if the guy is even worth it. I'm not saying Richard is a bad guy, but I am saying that he's seriously going to be very protective. Richard's a soldier."

Kari: "I told you he wouldn't do that! He's just upset! I would be very upset too if I saw Richard kissing someone else! Come on Willie, Richard is still the same guy I love! He isn't the bad guy in this situation!"

Balthazar: "Kari, I think Missy best summed it up when she said this to me. 'Balthazar, you seriously need to get your act together or we're through!' Obviously, I didn't listen to her because I don't listen, or care about what anyone thinks."
