cameras in wet rides

Hello everyone.
I was just wondering what you think about cameras on rides like splash mountain. I want to get pictures but i'm concerned about wrecking the camcorder/camera. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Are you asking about using your camera on the ride or just having the camera with you? Personnally, I would be nervous using my camera on a wet ride. But I have taken my camera on wet rides. For something like Splash Mountain, I just leave it in my fanny pack & I haven't had a problem. For something like Kali River Rapids, I plan on bringing a plastic bag with me and putting the fanny pack with the camera in the plastic bag during the ride.

I was more interested in using it on the ride but i was also concerned about putting it in a bag or something. Thankyou for your input.

I have used a disposable underwater camera before with great results. They take good pictures for a disposable and have good color. The only time it leaked is when I went SCUBA diving and went too deep.

I've used a video camera and still camera going down Splash Mountain. I just cover it with my shirt and arms right when the log goes under the briar patch so the splash doesn't get it. I've also sealed a video camera in a plastic zip-loc and used it to film Kali River Rapids. For my last trip I got a Pentax under-water digital still camera. I took it on all the wet rides including the water park ones. It takes some pretty good-quality pictures and quicktime movies. It didn't leak or show any damage at all.

I have used my DVD Camcorder and digital on Splash during the entire ride except the final splash, I slipped both cameras in a plastic bag at the last second, no problem at all taking the pictures.

Of course you all turned off the flash, and dimmed the viewer on the camcorder so as not to ruin the ride for everyone else, especially those right behind and in front of you.
