What kind of camera do you use when touring the parks? I have a DSLR that I love but it gets do heavy around my neck. So for our 2014 trip I'm looking for a smaller camera but still get awesome shots. I have a small Nikon cool pix but j notice I get a lot of red eye. Infuriates me!!! Never have that with my Canon Rebel.

I bring my dSLR about 1/3 of the time, otherwise my phone takes excellent photos and the days of the pocket camera are numbered!

Some say that a good neck strap makes all the difference in the world.

Avoiding red-eye on a PnS would mean getting a tilting bounce flash (RX100) or getting a camera with a fast enough lens (f/2 or less) and great high ISO to avoid using a flash.

My DD - likes her Canon ELPH 110 - 16 mp camera and HD video. Small but yet very powerful camera.

If you have some time, the videos below our Signature was taken with the Canon.

Solution, take it off your neck: http://www.amazon.com/Black-RS-Spor...CQU6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1375906830&sr=8-2

I bought that explicitly for Disney last year, and have used it a bunch of times since, it completely eliminated the strain of carrying my Rebel, and now it's hoisting the much heftier 6D in the Rebel's place and it still feels great. With the load spread across your body you barely feel the wait, and if you just rest an idle hand on the camera when it sits by your waist you never have to worry about it flailing it about. Night and day difference, I wore my DSLR on the whole trip, on every ride, never had a comfort problem.

Whether I like it or not, I'm stuck with my Canon 7D. It's the only camera I have! I love it, but sometimes my aching neck tells me to get a smaller camera. My wallet says no.

Do you know any online place that sells good strap? What kind / brand do you suggest? TIA!

How does that not bounce against your hip, though? Or is that more of a gender-specific problem? :p

I have one and it really doesn't bounce against my hip. But when I'm in a tight crowd, I put my hand back on that side and just keep it against the barrel to protect it from anyone else. I have arthritis in my neck and it was find a better strap or give up the big camera. I enjoy my camera too much, so I finally tried the Black Rapid strap. I absolutely love it.

Others swear by the Crumpler Industy Disgrace strap, but I've never tried it.

Thanks. I'll look into both.

I'm female. I use this same sling strap with a Canon 60d. I used it at Disney, all over Europe, Africa, South and Central America. I never experienced hip bouncing. I wear mine with my camera resting on the front of my hip bone and use my hand if I'm moving fast enough to make it move.

I never felt the weight of the camera.

I use a DSLR with the Crumpler Industry Disgrace strap on it. I wear it cross body most of the time. I also keep a Lenscoat Bodybag on the camera so I don't have to worry about knocking it around.

Well, with the recent fire sale on the Canon eos m I just got one for a trip in Dec. and am loving it so far. The slow autofocus issue was blown out of proportion in the blogs but with the latest firmware upgrade it's just fine. If you're use to a full frame dslr it will seem slow but coming from an older Canon point and shot it works great.

Love my rapid strap!

I have a Canon SX-260 and I love it! It's a little point and shoot that fits in my pocket, but it has an awesome zoom and I get great shots with it!

My friend who uses the strap said she has no problems with it, she does the same thing I do, keep your right hand resting lightly on the camera and it stays twisted inward. Doesn't take any pressure, you don't have to hold it down, just a very gentle barrier to discourage bouncing and twisting. On rides I slid it up the strap and laid the camera on my lap, which also works well when sitting to eat and what not.
