Ok.. I am going to DW on Monday!! Through Friday!!! Of next week! So excited!

But, I am having stress over camera stuff... :(

I have the Kodak Slice Digital Camera... I have 4GB of memory, and will be adding 16GB to that (I am a BIG freak on photography!!)..

I also have one battery, and will be adding two more to that.

But, here's my problem.. This is my first MAJOR trip with this camera and I am really scared about not having enough battery life to last from say, 7AM to midnight of later.

There is a charger that will charge each of the batteries in an hour (totaling 3 for all 3 batteries). I am more than likely getting that.

Experts, how would I conserve battery power throughout the day?? I am really scared that I will miss out on something big just because all of my camera batteries died.

Please respond ASAP as I am leaving on Monday!!

Avoid using the flash and LCD screen as much as possible. Don't review and erase your images while you're out shooting. Download to the computer with a card reader and not the camera.

I'm no "expert", but can you also buy a 2nd charger, too? That way, you can have 2 chargers going at the same time when you get back to the hotel room.

Hope I answered your question in time! When did you say you were leaving? :scared:

There is no one size fits all answer, but here are my thoughts on the questions you pose:

With 3 batteries, I really doubt you're going to have a problem with power, assuming the batteries and the camera are relatively new. I've always been a have 2 batteries or 2 sets of batteries for each camera person and with both our point & shoot cameras and our dslrs, that has been enough. The newer cameras we have with proprietary batteries have been phenomenal and now we hardley end up using 1 battery in a day. I suppose if you were shooting a lot of video with the same camera, that could change, but we take a lot of pictures and have never had a need for more than one battery.

I second the suggestion to get an extra charger. If you are using both batteries in a day, being able to charge both (or all three) overnight would give you maximum life.

One thing I would consider is bringing a laptop, so you can transfer pictures off your cards. Again, it depends on the camera, but I find we use up memory cards before we use up batteries. With that in mind, we always move the pictures for one day off to the laptop and start each day fresh with new cards. Just something to think about.

I hope this helps.
