Take it on the ride. Why take the risk? I would also advice that you keep your camera gear locked up or at least well hidden in your hotel room. People think of hotel rooms as safe, but they get robbed fairly frequently.

I took my Crumpler 6MD on me on all rides. I wouldn't dream of leaving $2k+ worth of camera equipment sitting around.

My friends camera and lenses and everything were stolen at WDW when she got up to get napkins. Enough said.

The most daring I have ever been at WDW was to leave my tripod under our stroller (backed in at stroller parking, so it was not visible) and always take my camera gear on the ride with me.

Look at it this way, there are tons of Disney security (plain clothes an otherwise) around, but they are there to protect the company and it's assets, not your property. there are people from all over the world at WDW, nearly all honest, but there are enough that aren't so honest that its not worth the risk.

If you cant carry it with you at all times, dont bring it.

I always take my camera and stuff with me on all the rides. Someone stole my son's autograph book from our stroller and then another day someday took our stroller.

I never leave my camera equipment unattended. If I leave it with my wife or son, I always tell them to watch my stuff. I make sure that they know I'm leaving it with them.

i have heard of some who put a diaper smeared with some chocolate or something equally messy looking tied on to their strollers in a see through plastic baggie to safe guard them, maybe you could try that with your camera gear but personally i 'd take it with me.;) we had no problem fitting a camcorder( like 12"x 8" or so) sized bag on any ride with us, it fit on the seat so it was under any restraints and on hubs shoulder

I think it was a clean diaper with coke or root beer poured into the bag...

I don't know about these techniques while in the parks, but for our hotel room we find these to be quite effective. :rotfl2: :lmao: ;)

:rotfl:

Nope, more yucky---less painful. I fixed my link, should work now. You'll see what I'm talking about. Let's just say it goes along the same lines as the dirty diaper on your stroller trick. ;)

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: yeah the what my daughter calls "bacon strips" tops the diaper

We had someone try to PickPocket us while in line to see Snow White....DO NOT LEAVE your camera outside of a ride. We saw more than one person crying at the lost and found.

If for some crazy reason (you are very loose with money) you leave your bag unattended/hidden in a stroller... take your memory cards with you.

You can never buy back the memories/images lost like you can a camera.

I would like recommendations for a comfortable camera bag. I will have a Canon dslr and one extra lens.... would also like to fit a water bottle (outside pocket, maybe?), autograph book, sunscreen, wallet, cell phone, etc...

What style have you used and liked?
