I had the slingshot 100 but changed as it would not hold my 70-300 IS whilst on the body.
I changed to a Lowepro fastback 350 but it is rather large.

Wow, they're all so huge! I'm leaning toward a Lowepro Slingshot 200 or maybe even a 100. Anyone have any experience with a 100? I also like the looks of the Tarmac messenger style type. At this point I'm looking for what would be the best to carry around WDW.

I have the Slingshot 100 and really like it. I like the smaller size so I don't overload, but at the same time with rearranging of the dividers I've been able to fit a lot in. It's also very convenient to be able to swing it around to your front to access your camera or lens. I also have a tamron backpack that has a laptop compartment that I use for travel. I like the bag but would not want to carry it around for day trips. It's quite a bit heavier, even though I think it's the smallest backpack they make for laptop/camera and I can fit the same amount of camera gear in the Slingshot.

I have debated if I should have gotten the Slingshot 200 or maybe 300 to be able to keep a longer lens the camera, but other than that I have no regrets about the 100.

I returned mine. I was convinced I wanted a sling bag. I wore it for about 5 minutes and it dug into my neck and HURT!

I liked this one too, but it wouldn't fit my D40. I want something similar but a little wider.

I just bought a http://www.tamrac.com/3537.htm

I am a big Crumpler fan but I didnt want to spend that much money, I got this one from Amazon.com for $49.95 + free freight. The Tamrac Express 7 has a nice style and more than enough room for my Nikon D40 and and extra lens.

Thanks everyone! I ordered a Lowepro 200. I almost went with the 100, but was afraid my 75-30 wouldn't fit in it very well. This way I will have room for more stuff. :)

I have one too for my Nikon D40. We used it last month in WDW and it was perfect.
last time we went to wdw we used a camcorder bag( predigital) and it was shaped the same but just a little smaller than my system 3 but held not only my film slr and 2 lenses( and film filters etc) but pretty much everything else we needed and still was small enough to fit under the bars of the seats on the side of the ride vehicle so it was protected. with all the zip places it would be easy to keep money/passes etc dry and safe inside. and without the other 3 lens, and all the junk i have in it not that heavy:rotfl:

Hi everyone, We are planning on buying the photopass CD and doing a portrait session on our November trip. I can decide between the Poly and Grand Floridan and would love to see some pics of each. I cant seem to find any on my own so I figured it best to ask the photo experts here. If you could help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance, Melissa

Ok, what do you carry your gear in while at WDW? We're at the point where we're carrying more gear for photography than for us and our toddlers enjoyment!

I'm looking at the Lowerpro SlingShot bag and the Fastpack. I like the side entry option for both of these so you don't have to completely remove the bag to get at your gear. The sling bag only allows you to carry it on one shoulder which could get uncomfortable while the backpack of course might be bettwe balanced.

We're looking to carry a Nikon D200, 80-200 f/2.8, 18-70 f/4.5, flash unit, maybe another wide angle lens, tripod, and misc other supplies. How big of a bag do we need?

I spent $$$ on a bag in February that caused me nothing but pain last week when I schlepped it around Disneyland and San Diego. It was a Messenger bag and I knew when I bought it that it might be an issue but the sale person at B&H assured me that the padding on the strap would make it painless. Yeah, sure.

I'm now in the market for a backpack and I don't care that I have to take it off to get to the camera. Sure, I can get the camera out easily with a sling or a messenger bag BUT if I'm going to be loathe to carry it, I won't be carrying it and there will be nothing to take out. In other words, choose comfort over convenience. That's my advice.

And oh...you'll rarely find a bag that will suit all occasions. So, I have a bag for transport (carry-on - the dreaded messenger bag since it does work well that way) and then I'll have a bag for walking in the parks. Pack accordingly. <sigh>

Hi all,
I am about to purchase my D80 along with 2 lens.
Getting the 18-200 VR and a 85mm/1.8

I am shopping @ B&H website and would like to get, in the same purchase, a good bag to carry all my new goodies in.Anyone have any recommendations (links would be helpful if you know the site)regarding size & fit, ease of getting equipment in & out while having fun at Disney?

Also any other must have accessories?

Thanks in advance:flower3:

I just got the LowPro Slingshot 200 as a day bag. It doesn't hold all my stuff, but for a day trip will easily hold my D50 with 18-135mm lens and any combination of 3 other lenses or a few lenses and the SB-600 with Gary Fong Diffuser. I also tried it with a D300 w/battery grip and still had a bunch of room.

Very well built and easy access while it is still on my shoulder. I like it.

It's my understanding that when you buy the cd you DO get all the pictures and the rights so that you can print them at your leisure when you get home!! That's what DH and I are doing in October!!! :thumbsup2

I carry my D80 and 18-200 in an optech camera pouch. Lightweight & easy to carry. I also carry my 50mm or 85mm in an extra lens pouch and keep that in my fanny pack. It's so much easier than carrying a bigger camera bag.

Hi. Last time we were there, we got a few photopasses taken and looked at them online after we got home and bought two. For my upcoming trip though, i am thinking about getting the photopass CD but i am wondering what pictures in DW can go on your photopass besides the ones where you see the guy standing out with his camera set up and it's obvious it's a photopass. For example, when you eat at restaurants that take your pics, can you put it on your photopass? How about the pics they take of you when you're on the rides? Also, do you have to get all the photos taken on the same photopass card if you're getting the cd? When we went to the waterpark, they just toss you a new one... how would that get onto the photopass cd? thanks!

Test track is the only ride currently that you use Photopass.
They saw they want to add it to all the major rides but test track is a test right now.

Great recommendations!

I have the Tamrac 5578 Expedition 8 SLR Photo Backpack
I have in it right now a d80 and the same 18-200 lens, 50 mm lens and a fisheye lens as well as a sb600 flash and gorrillapod. it has plenty of storage and feels comfortable.

ok That is Fancy with a capital F. A little more than I wanted to spend.
But the back pack style is a good option. Loving all the extra storage space
for things.

This choice is nifty! I saw a video demo on B&H after you recommended it. Great features. Only drawback I can see is how it crosses the body in the front. I am a bigger chested mama and I am not sure I would like the strap right there. hmmmmmmm?

Are you referring to something like this?

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/143291-REG/Op_Tech_USA_7001042_SLR_AF_Zoom_Soft.html

If yes, do you just then put the entire thing in regular bag/backpack you carry? Or do you attach it to yourself somehow?
:confused3 The idea of traveling light but keeping the camera & extra lens safe is an option that sounds good too.

Thanks again. Seeing as i do not have the camera yet it is difficult to tell
exactly what it would fit in based solely on dimensions of some products.
Anyone else have ideas for me or expand on these already given?
