Are you referring to something like this?

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/143291-REG/Op_Tech_USA_7001042_SLR_AF_Zoom_Soft.html

If yes, do you just then put the entire thing in regular bag/backpack you carry? Or do you attach it to yourself somehow?
:confused3 The idea of traveling light but keeping the camera & extra lens safe is an option that sounds good too.

Thanks again. Seeing as i do not have the camera yet it is difficult to tell
exactly what it would fit in based solely on dimensions of some products.
Anyone else have ideas for me or expand on these already given?

Yes. Except the one I use specifies for DSLR up to 300mm lens. I used to carry it by the camera strap that the camera came with. Then I upgraded and got the Optech pro camera strap. It's waaayyy more comfortable. I am a larger chested woman, and I wear my camera in this pouch strapped sideways across my shoulder to my hip. Then when I want to use the camera I simply spin it around to the front and there it is. I tried the Lowepro slingshot and imo it's just too heavy w/ all my gear in it to wear all day long. I have back issues and I need to go as light as possible. I've never had an issue with my camera in the optech pouch. Just don't drop it and it should be fine. If you're constantly wearing it, there is little chance of dropping it. The pouch basically protects the camera from bumps, bruises and dings. No one else wants to give me a hand in lugging the camera stuff around, so this is what I do so I can live with it comfortably and still be able to carry a camcorder and tripod. The optech camera strap really helps to disperse the weight of the camera. I wear my camera at all times, even when on rides. I simply hold on to the camera with my hand in addition to wearing it if I am on a violent ride.

Of course, I have 2 smaller camera bags (one is a lowepro and the other is a kata) that I use to carry the camera equipment on board the airplane, which I then put inside a large rolling backpack.
This is the Kata bag that I used to use to carry my stuff in and that I only use now to transport stuff in. http://www.amazon.com/Kata-H-14-GDC...4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1217754195&sr=8-4 It holds a lot. Kata bags are made extremely well, but they are heavy to lug around the parks 12+ hours a day. This bag holds my Nikon D80, 18-200VR lens, 50mm1.8, SB800 and 70-300VR lens, along with extra memory cards, cleaning cloth, and batteries for camera and flash. It is a tight fit when zipping up the 70-300VR on one side and the Sb800 on the other side. But the bag is made so well padded, I don't worry about the gear at all. I've even managed to stick my 10-20mmSigma in the bag on top of my camera.:scared1:

I say, get something you will be comfortable carrying around all day and something else to safely transport your stuff in, because the reality is, if it's made really well to protect your lenses, it's going to be too heavy for the average woman to want to lug around all day/night by herself. If it's too heavy, you will not want to lug it around. Then add to that the tripod for Fireworks, camcorder, etc. It can be a pain. Literally. Good luck!:yay:

I don't have the answer about water parks, but I know that last year you had to buy the photos at restaurants and then you could add them to your PhotoPass yourself when you got home. If you didn't buy the pictures then you couldn't add them.

If you are going to get the cd...be sure to purchase it ahead of time. If you buy it in advance it is only $99...savings of around $25. Then when you get home from your trip, you can make all the edits you want, add borders etc., save them all, and then get all the pictures on the cd. I had around 175 original pics on my cd...but after edits, I got over 400 pictures on my cd. Great deal!

Is the PhotoCD that you get with the Platinum plan the same thing as the photopass? My apologies if this sounds like I am an idiot.

If you get moe than one photopass card (ie from a waterpark) you just need to go to a photocenter - we went to DTD - before you leave and they will put all the pics from all cards onto one for you so that when you get home you only have one card number :thumbsup2

worked fine for us last year :)

You don't have to combine them on one card if you don't want to. You can put as many card numbers as your chose. So if you forget your card one day in your hotel room....no worries. If you buy pics at a restaurant or get pics at a place that gives free pics (like CRT) you can take the code number from the side of the picture and add it to your CD too.

Has anyone used Disney's PhotoPass? I was looking on the website and it mentioned having to get a card at the park. Do you need this card to upload your own pictures?

If you have used PhotoPass, please let me know how it is.

Thanks!

The Photopass card you get at the parks is a card with the images stored on it of the photos that the professional photogs at Disney take of your family. It has nothing to do with the pics you take. You do need the card if you want to have the Disney Photopass Photographers take your photos. However, the pics are expensive ($13) so most people find it a better deal to buy the Photopass CD. Disney will make you a CD of all your photos and gives you the rights to them...so you can make as many copies as you wish. if you buy the CD in the parks, it costs $125 but you can prepurchase it before your trip for $99

Hi Everyone,

If someone can answer this question for me you would be my hero :worship:

On one webiste I read that you can get the pictures of your family that are sold at character meals and dinner shows on your photopass without having to purchase them seperately and then on another site I read that you have to purchase them and then you can get them put on your photopass. Does anyone one know which one of these instances is true?

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure that you have to purchase them separately, and once you do, there is a number on the photo that you can enter to add them to your photopass CD.

Check out StitchKingdom (BradK's photopass site). About halfway down the page, he lists the places you can add.

Ok I purchased a really cheap kodak camera before our Disney /Universal trip. The pictures came out OK some came out crummy. :sad1:

So I wanted to know if anyone has ever purchased the Disney Photo pass CD? I was really thinking of it . There are atleast 10 pictures I really want . I know if I purchase them it would be over $120 so the CD would make more sence . Just wanted to know if the CD is worth it and if when you printed the photos they came out just as nice as they look at the website.

Thanks for the help guys .

Yeah, that's actually where i saw that you had to buy them :) Then I was checking out the tips on allears.net and saw this:

"After finding out that the picture packages they bring to your table at some of the character meals have the PhotoPass number on the back, we asked the cast member who brought them to us if we could get the number. The first meal of our trip the cast member said that you had to purchase them. The second meal the cast member let us in on a great tip -- all you have to do is go to one of the PhotoPass stores and tell them the date and approximate time of your event and they can get that picture and put it onto your PhotoPass CD! I think this is great for those of us who plan to buy the CD and don't want to spend extra money on the packages they bring to the tables. We went to the PhotoPass spot in Epcot -- it took a little searching in the system but the pictures from 'Ohana and Chef Mickey's were added to our CD! - "

That's where I got confused. But the information on Stitchkingdom makes much more sense. Thank you!

Has anyone seen these new Bags? They are very feminine, I love them. I could carry this and not have to take an extra bag to WDW. They are pretty pricey though so does anyone know where to get them at a lower price?
Pam

They look really pretty. For those prices though, I will wait until I can read some reviews on them. In googling, I found a negative review on the rolling bag not holding up well after only 4 months....

I would like a new camera bag, but I have a hard time online shopping for any kind of bag. I really like to try them on, rummage through & get a feel for them before I buy.

Nice bags, but I'd never get my husband to carry one of those! He often takes a turn carrying my bag for me when we are in the parks and I definitely don't want to jeopardize that!
