Yes it is safe and if there is still any doubt you can request the bag be manually checked and they will/have to do it.

I know everyone will have their own opinion on a bag, BUT, we used this one on our trip and it really did work out well. Being able to swing it around to get to the camera was a really nice feature. Lowepro Slingshot 200 AW

Just sharing......

Weather proof cover.

I found the sling strap more comfortable than a regular backpack. It is not a huge bag. I bought it on Ebay for a good price.

I got one for Christmas, and I love it. Have not had a real chance to where it around....maybe going to the zoo next week if it is nice, so hopefully there. I really like it though.
What lenses do you have in it? Just wondering if my new 70-200 f/2.8 will fit in it when I get it.

We have the kit lens. The Canon 28-135 IS and Canon 70-300 IS, that one was a tight fit, but it fit. :) Did you get the 200? The 100 was really small when I looked at it at a local store.

Yes I got the 200. I really wanted the 300, but the guy at our local camera store did not have any, and he also said it was huge. Almost to big to be a slingbag.

I didn't realize it came in a 300. It would probably would be good for places like...oh, say....Disney World!

were you able to fit anything else in it.. say ponchos or other things ya may need at the park.

it looks great and the weather proof cover is a REAL plus - especially since we go in June and it rains every day in June... not to mention when you are on a ride that might make ya a bit or a lot wet.

The 200 has a nice big pocket on the top part of the bag. You could prob fit a lot of stuff in there. Also has a shallow pocket in the front, and you can add on some attachments using the sliplock system.

The top does unzip, you could maybe put some stuff in there. If you didnt use all the lens spots you can put stuff (small) in there. We had filters and an external memory drive in the top and some cables and such.

thanks - both of you. I will have to check it out.

then if I order it, I can always wrap it up and give it to DH "look Honey.. I bought you something for WDW"

:rolleyes1

I got the 100 just after thanksgiving and I love it. I didn't want a large pack, just enough to carry my camera, a couple lenses and some accessories. This fit the bill perfectly. I carry it everywhere.

The Lowepro stuff seems to be extremely well made. The Slingshot line of bags seem to be particularly well laid out.

that's what i'm looking for. how much does the 100 fit? i like the slingshot style as i hate having to take it off to open it.... even though i had decided to just stick with the old camcorder bag i have, i can be easily persuaded:lmao:

how much does the 100 fit?

In the main compartment I carry my Nikon D80, an 18-135 lens, a 70-300 lens, and a couple of lens hoods. The lens hoods will be replaced with a flash when I get one (if you prefer, there's easily room for another lens in there). There's also a place for memory cards. A neat feature is the large cleaning cloth that flips over the camera making it easy to quickly wipe the LCD clean when you take it out.

In the front compartment I have a body cap, a memory card reader, a usb drive and a USB bluetooth dongle. I usually have my Pocket PC in there too.

In the top compartment I keep a digital point and shoot with extra batteries, cables for the Nikon and a battery charger.

I think I'm going to get the water bottle attachment but other than that, it's perfect for me.

I never wear the strap across my body as it shown in the picture. I just sling it over my left shoulder. I can still pull the bag under my left arm into the cradled position shown and get the camera out with my right hand.

I'm the kind of person that likes to put my hands on something before I buy it. I found the 200 at Ritz, decided it was too big and ordered the 100 from a retailer on eBay.

I'll have to give these a look. I love the easy access my shoulder bag provides, but it is just too uncomfortable. I love the comfort of my backpack, but it is a pain to access the gear in it. Maybe this is the compromise that I want.

I used to have a fanny pack that I loved. I would just rotate it around to my side to access the gear in it. I loved it. It was stolen along with my gear several years ago. When I started replacing gear, I didn't replace it because I knew that my gear was growing even faster than my fanny.

I'm surprised that you're able to fit this much into the 100. I have a D70 with 18-70, 55-200 and 50mm lenses, and I thought it was too tight. I originally purchased the 100 and exchanged it for the 200. It would be nice if there were something in between because the 200 is much larger, and I'm a rather small person, but I can carry all my gear in there plus plenty of kid-related paraphernalia.

The sling style bag is a good compromise between a shoulder bag and backpack. My backpack is more comfortable but a pain to access. And I ordered one of those cool looking Crumpler messenger-style bags (loved the blue with orange trim!), but wasn't willing to pay the chiropractor bills that would have accompanied it if I carried it around on our vacations.

I have a few bags but since we are talking about the Slingshot 200AW.... I can fit my Canon 20D with grip and the 24-70L attached with the hood reversed, 10-22 with hood, and the 50 1.4 with hood reversed. I put my flash(580EX) in the top pocket. The bag is pretty well stuffed at this point. My 70-200 L does not fit attatched however, I can put it on the side if I reconfigure the inside. But only that and maybe the 50mm lens will fit. I wish the 300 was out when I was buying this one. I have the Lowepro Computrekker Plus AW and it fits all of my gear plus my laptop with my only complaint is that it is HEAVY. I may look into the Crumpler 7 million dollar home- I just don't know how I will like the messenger bag style, I have always been a fan of backpacks- that's the nice thing about the slingshot, it feels like a backpack on your back but it is easy to slide it to the front and get your gear.

When I upload my PhotoPass pictures to Piscsa or Adobe , in my computer , not on the web , they have a red circle with an X in it. I know this probabally has something to do with the copywriting, but I thought that when I purchased the CD, I could do whatever I wanted to with them.

I got the Lowepro slingshot 200AW (like the one pictured in the OP) for Christmas--I'm going to have to get used to it though as I'm not used to my camera case being like this!
