Okay, I think I have finally gotten up the nerve to post hair & makeup trial pictures.
I cannot believe I am about to post a picture of me with no makeup on and my hair blow dried straight (and I try to NEVER be seen in public in short sleeves or a tank top).

The ONLY reason I am doing that is so that you can appreciate the miracle that Lily and Ana worked.
My hair and makeup trial was scheduled for Sunday morning at 8:30. The night before, my friend Judy and I were out at the Adventurers' Club at PI for my last visit before the club closes. Somewhere in the course of the evening I decided I NEEDED a Pamelia's Punch since, hey! when would I ever get another chance to have that delicious concoction? When it was served in a really cool tall plastic souvenir collector's cup (and Judy's non-alcoholic drink was served in a standard white WDW cup with the red letter/logo), I came up with the bright idea that I NEEDED a Kungaloosh! I mean, HEY! When would I ever get another chance to have that delicious concoction?

AND I really thought Judy and I should each bring a souvenir cup home to our DH's who couldn't join us. Why I thought two very potent alcoholic drinks was a bright idea after too many early mornings and late nights I cannot fathom.
So, when Ana and Lily showed up Sunday morning, I looked like this:
As you can see, my face was all puffy, I had bags under my eyes, the paternal family trait creases between my eyebrows were pronounced, my crow's feet were wicked AND I had a sheet crease down one cheek from being practically comatose in one position while sleeping off the Pamelia's Punch and the Kungaloosh!
So, I was expecting only Ana, but I think she got word that I am a bit "appearance challenged", shall we say, and decided to bring reinforcements, the very talented and sweet Lily. Let me say this -- these are two of the most vivacious and energetic and kind women I have ever met. Judy put it exactly right -- they literally brought positive energy into the room. I couldn't believe how I went from nervous and shaking and embarassed and shy to comfortable and laughing. It was amazing! I showed Lily some pictures of makeup and we eliminated several that were too subtle and some that were too pink and some that were too brown in tones. We all agreed on a bit more dramatic and contoured look for the makeup. I also told Lily that I like my every day lipstick because it helps to camouflage my not real bright teeth. Well, Lily looked at my color and liked it but wanted to "pink" it up a bit and I thought that sounded very "bride-y" so I said sure. She took my color and blended it with some pink and something really shiny to create a berry tone that I LOVED!!
Okay, so as a reminder, here is the hairstyle I wanted Ana to consider:
Here is the "look" that Ana and Lily created for me:
What do you think?
The only changes I expect to make for January are that my hair will be longer, so the curls in the back will be a bit more full; the pieces around my face will be cut in more of a taper, and just a bit shorter. Also, I am going to ask Ana to make the bottom of the back a bit less tight against my head and a little fuller. She had originally left some tendrils hanging down in the back and we all agreed we didn't like them, so she had to get all those pieces up into the curls, so I think she had to pull it a bit tight to get it pinned up. I still think it looked fabulous and if I look like that in January, I will be really happy.
As you can see, we all decided on the 2nd tiara as most complimentary with the hair style and jewelry and the "look" I wanted. At the end, Ana was such a darling to take the tiara out for me and make my hair look neat and pretty to go about my day. I still felt like a princess, though!
So, what do you think?
