According to "Fitday" my basal met. rate is 1500. Add in my lifestyle and it comes to around 2800. As long as I eat above 1500 I won't mess with my metabolism, right. Is that how it works?
And, as long as I stay under 2800 I'll lose weight?

I've been researching this recently myself, and I'm no expert but I'll pass on what I learned...It takes a 3500 calorie deficit a week to burn one pound of fat. Hope that helps.

My 2 cents worth is that you cannot fully rely on FitDay or any other "calculator" to be sure of your met. rate and what you need to eat/burn to lose weight. They are good "ball park" estimates but ultimately you have to monitor how you feel (don't let yourself get too light headed, dizzy, weak, etc) and what you see on the scale to determine the right amount of food and exercise for you.

Sundie
