Hi there, thank you for reading my post...

I would like to know if calling WDW back to apply a new promotion on an existing reservation is easy and doable.....

Planning to go to WDW after 14 years. I used a TA for the last trip (it was our honeymoon). I would like to plan this upcoming trip DIY style since that's part of the fun. However, I have never dealt with WDW directly and am not sure CM are helpful and friendly. Would love to hear your experience.

So many new things have popped out in the past 14 years... MagicBand, FP+, new rides and restaurants.... :scared::scared::scared:

TIA

As soon as you know about the discount call and give them your reservation number and ask to have the code applied. If your resort and room type are eligible they will apply the code and give you the refund. I did this last fall and it was super easy. I had a discount applied to three already booked reservations with no problems. I thought I wouldn't like the new magic bands but I was wrong. It was worth it to not have to find the park pass and room key all the time. We pre purchased memory maker and it worked great with the magic bands too. Enjoy your trip.

You can call but it's important to remember you're really making a new booking. In other words, if a room isn't available with the discount for your dates, you won't be able to get it. They don't really apply the discount code if that makes sense, it's easier to think of it as a re-booking under the same reservation.

You can, but have a backup up plan. You may have to change room type or even the resort to get the discount.

We did this after a discount was released the day after we booked. Called and got the saving with no issue, but I agree with the previous posters that you may have to be flexible. Good luck!

It's easy enough to do, but as a general rule, they won't offer suggestions outside of what you specifically ask them. So a TA might say "Nothing in river view, but standard view still has availability" while the CMs will usually simply say "Nothing in river view." and you may need to ask about standard view. They are very helpful, but in my experience that's how it works.
