Hi everyone.
I was just curious how many people call back the reservation line shortly before your trip and just confirm your reservations?
Anyone not do this and then get there and have no adr's??
Just wondering.

I was debating calling before we left for our trip in September....but neurotic worrier that I am I was afraid that if I did that they would then mess it up somehow by checking it and I figured I was better to let it be and not worry at all. All was fine! I wouldn't call. If by chance there is a mistake, my bet is they would work it out somehow.

What I've done is call to re-confirm my most important ADRs. For example, LTT during MVMCP was really important to us, and I hadn't had a great experience with the CM when I made the ADR originally, so I did call about a month before the trip just to be sure. The wonderful CM I got when I called made it clear that she could see all my ADRs at a glance and she offered to run them all down for me (which was SO great); if it would make you feel better and/or if there's something that feels make or break for your trip, then go for it!

Nope, never and they have always been fine. I have never even had to give my confirm number even though I always have them with me.

We didn't call and confirm our ADR's for our trip last March, and sure enough, they screwed up our ADR for our dinner the first night of our trip.

But isn't this the reason they give confirmation numbers, so you have proof that you did have reservations? What did they do in your case...make you wait longer, turn you away? I'm going during the busy summer months and I'd be upset if I couldn't eat where I made reservations!

Due to us having a large group of 11 I will be confirming our reservations in a month to make sure we are all set.

I had a confirmation number.. unfortunately, it was for a reservation for one week after we were leaving WDW! If I would have called to confirm a few weeks before we came down to Florida, we would have found the mistake and perhaps been able to eat at the restaurant we wanted. Unfortunately, I didn't find out until check in when I received a print out of all our ADRs. By that time (a few hours before our alleged meal), there were no ADRs available on the boardwalk for any of the dining plan restaurants. We really wanted to eat at the boardwalk.. we settled for Yacht Club Galley. It was good, don't get me wrong, but I really wanted to try Spoodles.

The long and the short of it is that it can't hurt to call and confirm a few weeks before you leave for vacation.. you may be able to aviod the situation that befell us.

Thanks everyone, I think I will call since we are only there ONE day.
Thanks.

I always call to confirm and double check. Upon calling back and just giving the CM my name for her to pull up all our ADR, did'nt work, I was nervous because the CM kept saying she did'nt see all my ADR's. Well, when I gave her my confirmation numbers, she was able to pull them up and found out my name was'nt spelled right, so I'm glad I did call back. She was able to make the corrections. :flower:

We had a confirmation number for a lunch at Akershus for our last trip, but the people at the podium had no record of a reservation under our name or the number. We were turned away. Apparently, confirmation numbers can be meaningless.

Definitely call and confirm!

Hi,

Pedro2112, How did you get a print out of you ADRs at checkin? How does it get linked to your stay? When I called they did not ask for hotel reservation....or did you tell them that you had ADR and they look them up???

Thanks!

I've never called and never had an issue. If it makes you feel better to call though, go for it!

If I have made several changes to my ADR's (which I often do) then I will call a few days before my trip to confirm.

I agree that if it makes you feel better, call to confirm. :)

If you are worried about your reservations you should call to re-confirm. I did a few years ago and the CM couldn't believe I was wasting her time to bother to check. In short she made me feel stupid and guilty. I will not call again to re-confirm. I will go with my confirmation numbers and hope they mean what they are: A CONFIRMED TABLE!!

The only thing that bugs me when I call them is that it takes them 20-40 minutes to take down 5 or so reservations. I can never figure that out!!?!! But to their credit most of the CM's I've spoken to are nothing but nice! :flower:

Jeanie, I went over to the guest relations (I think they call it the concierge desk now) and asked if there was a way I could get a print out of my ADRs (I think they were called PSs back then). They printed out a copy of each ADR on a seperate, small, piece of paper. I'm not sure exactly how they searched, but I am guessing it was by phone number, as I don't recall ever giving them my reservation number when I obtained my ADRs.
