Heading to the World in 18 days  and am still struggling over a bathing suit and appropriate cover ups. I am 'pooh' sized as I have seen it called on here, which basically means I am a size 20/22 with and very buxomous (sp?) (we are talking triple's here). I need a suit that reigns in my ladies, keeps the rear end covered and looks somewhat attractive if possible, I am only 26 and is it to much to ask to look a little cute? Also I need a cover up that is long enough covers my upper thighs and maybe some of my arms but doesn't make me look freakish. Any ideas? Pictures would be nice of the do's and the dont's. I haven't been in a public swimmig pool since I was a knock out 16 year old and am having major anxiety about this one but my daughter has never been swimming with me and I know she wants to. Thanks ladies!

I'm a little more pooh sized than you (24) (the ladies are an F)

I bought a cute tankini from avenue. it is v cut, so there is clevage, but its either cleavage or the unibo.b....I'll choose cleavage.

I have a maxi dress (tea length jersey dress) I got from walmart in black to wear to and from the pool.

As for while I am at the pool, I don't wear a cover up, I decided years ago that I was missing out on way too much by being afraid people might look at me. So I wear my bathing suit with pride...lol...and I have been having a blast ever since! As long as your bits are covered youshould be A-ok :)

I got the best tankini swimsuit from Fashion Bug Plus and it had a great built in bra and the skirt bottom is long enough to cover my big thighs. I think the length of the skirt is 15in. it comes right above my knees.

I think the name brand is It Figures.

I also just ordered from swimsuitsforall.com and while there prices were good, the quality is not great. not bad, but not great.
I am keeping the suits that I purchased from there but i know they are not goign to last for as many years as the It Figures one has lasted me.
Oh and if you order for swimsuitsforall.com make sure you go up a size, cuz they seem to run small.

Good luck I know its a nightmare to find a nice fitting swimsuit.

Not any cover-up or suit advice here but I say go and have fun!!

You will see people of all shapes and sizes. I think what got my attention the most was not the pooh sized people but those in skimpy 2 piece to thongs! That was a shocker :scared1:

Enjoy the time with your daughter. You can go to the park in clothes over your suit then undress in the locker room. Cover up with a beach towel until you find a chair then SHOW IT OFF :thumbsup2

We love the waterparks!!

have you looked into lands end bathing suits? they are comfortable and come in a variety of styles and sizes

Im not pooh sized but Im having trouble finding something to wear. I have stretch marks from my 3 girls so 2 pieces are out! I need something to cover the rear too. QVC had some really cute suits that are made to help problem areas.

my mother is pooh sized, and she uses a website which i believe is called cyberswim, they have tons of sizes and designs and stuff but i believe it's a bit pricey, but she says they are awesome quality.

I bought 2 tankini tops and a skirted bottom from Target last yr for our trip to Hawaii. I decided I didn't like the bottom, so this yr I just got some swim shorts with attached panty from Lane Bryant (they have it online only). So that is what I plan to wear, the shorts and the tankini tops ;) Covered and comfortable!

I lost a lot of weight but when I was "pooh sized" I found swimsuits at Fashion Bug and Lane Bryant(was a little too pricey). I also found one at sears that I loved! It was a tankini and the bottom was a swim skirt that covered my thighs just right;).

I had a sundress that I used as a cover up.

I love the It Figures suits with the skirts to hide my upper thighs. QVC sells a bunch of them.

I am no longer "pooh" sized, but from losing a bunch of weight I have saggy inner thighs, that desperately needed covered. The tankinis and "tennis-dress" styles are great, with the little skirt attached, for coveing. I do have a terry Mickey coverup that I got from Disneyshopping.com that's ok, but my favorite coverup is a silky lightweight dress shirt. I roll up the sleeves, leave the front buttoned down a ways and it looks and feels great. I bought, off the clearance rack, a XXL in the women's dept. My Mom (she's a bit bigger than I am) wanted a coverup and went to the men's dept., clearance rack, and bought something similar for just a few bucks.
Good luck on your shopping and don't let the bathing suit thing freak you out. Mickey and friends love all shapes and sizes.

Lands' End!!! Check out the website first http://www.landsend.com and see if they may have stores near where you live. (If you have never heard of Lands' End, it's very similar to LL Bean). To me it's always better to go in person and actually try the stuff on before you buy it. They have very well made swimwear/cover-ups for ladies of any size. I used to not really like their swimwear because I thought it was too plain looking but last summer they had some adorable safari print swimsuits. At the end of the summer last year I bought a one piece giraffe print swimsuit that was perfect. I bought it for my trip to Disney in Sept. I'm not pooh-sized. I'm kind of petite on top but I kind of got the booty and hips going on (I guess I have an hourglass figure?) and this swimsuit was perfect for covering my big booty!

I know they won't have the safari print stuff since it was from last season, but I know now they have this season's swimwear out, so check it out and see if you like anything. GOOD LUCK!

Oops, I see you had already suggested Lands End. Sorry I missed it at first. At least good to know we had the same great idea to suggest.

Not sure if they're at all the stores...but our local Sears has a large Lands End section with tons of suits! You can also return stuff you buy at Landsend.com there.

I plan to do some shopping there this weekend!! :cool1:

Check out the website swimsuitsforall.com. I am very happy with the Delta Burke suit I got being that it was designed by a larger woman.

If you go to Sears and they don't have the size/color you want, they have computers there where you can order directly from Lands End and the shipping is FREE...

I will often do that if I'm not sure of a size as well - free shipping, order one of each size and return (to Sears) the one that didn't fit.

Good luck - and don't worry about it. Find a suit that you like and have fun with your daughter.

Remember - you will never see these people again....and I'm sure you will look fabulous!!!

As for a cover up - I have been looking for one as well. I want one that has a full zip or buttons up the front, so I'm not pulling a big "dress" over my head every time. We are doing the cruise this year, so Iv've ben on a search for a nice coverup that isn't overly expensive.

Let us know what you find - I think there are some great suggestions here on where to start - you will probably have too many options. :lmao:

Old Navy has plus size online. The suits are cute and look figure flattering. Not to expensive also. If you leave in 2 weeks, you may want to look at Target since they also have swim wear. You don't have a lot of time to order something online.

YES! I remembered that after I posted about Lands End yesterday but just didn't mention it. Sears stores are everywhere so that's a good place to look for lands end suits!

Ross, Marshalls, and TJ Maxx all have swimsuits, the "Maxine of Hollywood" ones are good fabric with some skirted styles and have enough structure at the top to keep the girls contained. The big box store styles don't seem to have fabric that offers enough support. I've gotten one for the part 3 years, so my luck is holding. I have issues with scarring on one leg that I want to cover, and while they aren't trendy, they do have some nice prints. Amazon has some pics of some suit styles.

I got my swimsuit at Fashion Bug Plus about 2 years ago. I dont go swimming much so it is still in good condition. It was bit pricey but it covered my thighs and had good support for "the girls".

I have learned that Disney swimsuits ran large. I brought one off ebay and it was 16 and usually wear a 22/24 and fit great. The top was little short. I like my tank to overlap the bottoms but nothing was hanging out or showing.

Good luck!!
