Calling college football fans . . . which Bowl games will you be watching?

Is it possible for Auburn to get a share of the Natl. Championship if they win?

IMHO, they have just as much of a share of it as USC did last year. :)
I do love how AP named USC national champions last year, USC is in this year, and now AP is backing out of the BCS.

Oh I agree with you that they should have a share, but I couldn't imagine that they could get the votes to.
AP is OK this year because their pick has kept the no. 1 spot. Of course we know who owns the trophy and who the real champions were last year.

Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner, Boomer Sooner, OK U!!!!!!!!!!!

I love college football, and will watch as many games as I possibly can. But, as you might gather from my tag, you'll know I'm counting the hours until the Orange Bowl! I entered as a Freshman at OU the same year as Gary Gibbs took over as coach, so needless to say, my college football experience was not that enjoyable. The past 5 years have more than made up for it though, especially since we're lucky enough to have season tickets. In fact, the 2000 season was our first to have tickets, and that was the most incedible season I can remember. There are so many similarities between this year and the 2000 NC year, it's almost scary, and I really hope they can do it again!

Go Sooners! FINISH! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hey, Star! We were at OU the same time, because I graduated in '93! I can count on one hand how many football games I attended during college, and I never took my parents to a game, even on Dad's Day! I always made them take me to OKC to shop instead. Those were indeed "Dark Days"! Makes me a little envious of the kids there now, until I stop to think of how early they have to get to the stadium just to get a seat. :bored:

Somewhat related to the bowls, but the rumor floating around Baton Rouge today was athletic director Skip Bertman just left today for Orlando because he was meeting with and signing Steve Spurrier as the new LSU head coach but it will not be announced until after the bowl. Seems he was lured away rather quickly from South Carolina. If its true, it certainly is interesting.

LOL-Desiree emailed me and told me after you called her. I'm afraid she may no longer be speaking to me as I thought this would be a good thing. If it's true, I say bring on the fun 'n gun! I'd much rather Spurrier be our coach than to have to play against him (unless of course Saban were staying). And for heaven's sake please leave Tubberville in Auburn.

Back to the bowls - so sad for Bama and Florida (unless they manage a big comeback in the second half). Not looking good for the SEC tonight. I guess it'll be up to Georgia, Tennessee, LSU and Auburn now.

Woe is me.. I'm so depressed... :guilty: I really hope you heard wrong Angey!

So for now, GEAUX Tigers and please bring a GOOD announcement after we WIN the game!!!

Heading into the New Year's Weekend to me means . . . COLLEGE FOOTBALL BOWL GAMES!!!! Whoooo hoooo!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Having had ties to 4 Big Ten schools, I will be watching several of the match-ups, including:

Sun Bowl: Arizona State vs. PURDUE (my alma mater!!)

Capitol One Bowl: IOWA (where I am currently a faculty member) vs. LSU

Rose Bowl: Michigan vs. Texas (the GRAND-DADDY of all the bowls!!)

and, of course,

Orange Bowl: USC vs. Oklahoma - for the national championship

I LOVE college football!! Can't wait!!!

So, what bowls and teams will YOU be watching??
Good game Deb

Good game, capthooksmom. You had us worried in the 4th quarter! :earseek:

Ya'll had me worried the whole game!

I never gave up hope because (unfortunately) we've had lots of games this year when we won it in the 4th quarter. Just wasn't meant to be this time. I'm still proud of them because there has been so much focus on our coaching search and not on them and the game. I had hoped for better results for Marcus Randall, Marcus Spears and the other seniors. They are some of my all time favorite players. Great atheletes and even better people.
Anywhoo, thank goodness we lost against a good team. I liked the play calling of Iowa. If there was ever any criticism of Saban around here it was that he's too conservative. IMHO he sure was today!
Oh well, going to go against all of my beliefs and root for Auburn. We them to pull it out for the SEC.

Congrats to Louisville for winning, and even more congrats for not losing your coach to LSU!!

bananiem, did your heart STOP BEATING during Drew Tate's last pass? I think mine did . . .

Thanks, capthooksmom. My beloved Boilermakers managed to lose in the last minute and a 30 seconds yesterday in the Sun Bowl :guilty: , but the Hawkeyes win today helped ease some of that pain . . .
Really good game. I think it could easily have gone either way . . . just came down to the very end . . .

Since you brought that up...our news said his second interview did not go well at all but did not give details. Anyone know what happened?

OK, so LSU lost, but the good news is MAYBE I can get north end zone seats in Tiger Stadium next year without a TAF fee and can get out the south.
Now ....
GO WAR EAGLES and GO SOONERS!

Good game Iowa, you guys deserved it. I hate to think what your quarterback will be like in another year or two with more experience under his belt! Glad ya'll aren't in the same conference as us!
