Calling cards to call home?

Hello fellow cruisers,

We are cruising in 43 days!!! and I would like to purchase a prepaid calling card to call home to check in. I am mostly concerned with calling home from the Caymans and Cozumel as I am sure any card would work from Key West. Last year we were in Nova Scotia and the BJ's card which I purchased to call home would not work to make calls to the states. Any 411 (information) would be most helpful.

The only input I have on the subject is that calling cards (at least the typical AT&T ones most purshase at Wal-Mart and Sam's) do not work in Nassua.

I've had good luck using AT&T Calling Cards and AT&T pre-paid Calling Cards from various international locations. The trick is that you have to dial the appropriate AT&T Direct Service access number, not the 800 number that's printed on the card.

We had a similar problem using our AT&T calling cards. In Cozumel there is a calling center about 4 blocks to the left of the ship. The prices were .75 per minute and it was very efficient for a quick call, Just ask any merchant where the calling center is and they'll point out the spot for you.
