Ahoy there!

How many of you are die-hard YC/BC fans like me and my hubby? We are so much so that we've tried twice to stay at different resorts just because we felt like we should "try new things" and each time we're so disappointed.

For instance, last year we tried GF. It's beautiful, really! But, after one night we missed the Beach Club. So we transferred. Then, this year we tried WL (it was a short 4 night trip this time). It's beautiful, really! But, we found the transportation to be slow and the CM's not to be as helpful, the rooms small and dark, etc etc.

We love Stormalong Bay and the convenience of walking to Epcot & MGM. PLUS, the boardwalk area and all the shopping and dining.

Let me know I'm not alone - tell me why you are a die-hard YC/BC fan. I wonder if anyone else has tried different resorts and been unhappy.

NEVER AGAIN. We're staying at either YC or BC. And we won't feel bad about it anymore.

8 of us just got back from WL and were kind of disappointed in it. We are like you, loved Stormalong Bay and the convenience to Epcot and MGM that BC/YC have. Here's how I rank the deluxes that we've stayed at: 1. BY/YC 2. AK 3. WL. Next time we might try Boardwalk.

WL is a VERY different feel from the Epcot resorts. The Epcot resorts are cozy but at the same time you're in the middle of everything and within walking distance and a quick boat ride to 2 parks.

WL is much more secluded-you can't walk to any of the parks nor can you walk to the resorts unless you're very motivated to walk to FW (we've enjoyed renting bikes there).

It's like going from the beach to the mountains. VERY different atmospheres.

We honeymooned at the BC and do like it but we also really like the S/D.

We switch back and forth from the S/D to the WL for a change a pace...we really enjoyed the FW cabins in Feb. - a nice time of year to stay there, but again it was a totally different Disney experience than staying in the EPCOT resort area because you are so much more secluded. It was like being in the mountains (without mountains:))--but still having the conveniences of being in WDW!

I totally understand how you feel though, because we feel like our "home" resort is the S/D:p And, when we go to the WL/FW area we have totally different expectations:p

Family and I will be staying at YC for the first time this December. We've toured the property before and came away impressed.

I have traditionally been a CR fan. We tried WL since but felt it was a notch below. However, I have a feeling that the YC is going to give the CR a run for #1 on my list.

We shall see....

Here's my story...

While on our honeymoon at CBR, my husband and I went over to the YC/BC and fell in love with the theming, pool, etc. We vowed we would one day stay there. Now, 7 years later, we are going there with our 2 little boys. Our dreams have come true.

You're not alone. We're BC fans. In fact, I was just thinking of calling to make reservations for 11/29-12/6 and thought that maybe we should try YC just for variety--then I said, nah--it's a longer walk from EPCOT at night. We'll just stay at BC! I love everything about it except the price.

Great - so I'm not the only one. thanks everyone for the replies.

Jwfla422 - I liked your explanation. I did like taking the trail over to FW from WL. That was nice. We do like FW, and we typically spend time there every trip. We like the campfire singalong even though we don't have kids (go figure). We have been canoeing, biking, boating from FW. So, that's why we choose WL so we would have easy access to FW. That part I did like. But, after reading your post I realize that one reason I like the Epcot Resort area so much is because we live in the country (not far from mountains of NC) so we like the bustling hustling Epcot area for our vacation. WL does seem far removed and on our vacation we want to walk to restaurants and entertainment.

Thanks everyone - I've enjoyed reading these.
