Calling all who have Non Disney loving significant other

my kids and I are rabid fans of disney...DH has been dragged along more times than he cares to remember:rotfl2: He enjoys himself more with a rental car,as he hates feeling 'confined' to Disney property:confused3
Split up for enjoyment when necessary- my DH gets sick of rides, lines, etc quickly. So when he's done,we split up,usually he hangs out at hotel, takes the car out, etc.
Dh loves to eat his way around WDW,so lots of places, snacks and reservations maybe even a dining plan, makes him happier.

My DH likes to follow me around and complain:sad2: its like if he is miserable everyone else should be:mad: if only we could split up.This being our frist trip I find myself getting more nervous everyday,:scared: I'll probably have a panic attack the day we go:worried:

My ex husband would never let any of us go. He never had vacations. He was anti anything. My children never knew anything about WDW. I have never been able to take them. I am remarried and I went there for the first time in 06. My DH now likes it. But we just cant always afford that kind of trip. I am happy to have at least gone one time.

Been there done that. Women who have Disney loving DH's should :worship: :cheer2: :cool1::woohoo: because they are so dang lucky,

I hear ya....they have it made!!!!!!! How wonderful that must be to have a DH that is as excited as they are, lucky girls!

I'm sorry some of you have to go through so much just for a trip to Disney.
*must hug DW for being great*

Those of you whose DH actually looks forward to Disney, I envy you. My man agreed to go the first time only because he loves me and it makes me happy but I have to wait a few years before asking him to return for another trip. I would go every vacation/chance I got, but I have to lure him with Nascar drives, cool manly resorts like AKL or WL, promises he won't have to set foot in the 4 parks, and keeping hush hush about anything Disney in the meantime. I save up and pay for the trips myself by using my credit union at work, so he doesn't even have to deal with seeing payments to WDW or any Disney related expenses. Lol, he knows me and knows I am on the Disney related websites all the time and my desk is covered with Tiggers and I have Tinkerbell stuff all over too. Christmas is coming so out of the attic will come all my musical Tiggers that dance and play Xmas songs. I have a "Tigger Christmas" theme so DH can't escape Disney completely. I even had a license plate on my car that said TIGGER1. You might ask how a diehard Disney fan and addict like me could marry a non Disney lover like my DH? Well, I guess he is Disney tolerant, he gave me a stuffed Tigger on our first "blind" date '*** he knew I was a Tigger fan. I am pretty lucky though that my man will do ANYTHING for me, even a trip to Disney again. I do wish he would get excited about it and want to help plan. So yeah, I am a little jealous of those who have partners who actually like Disney. I did catch mine smiling though and having fun several times at WDW, although I had to promise never to tell anyone the details of his happy moment that I witnessed at Pirates of the Carribbean. If you have ever seen Jeff Dunham and his character "Walter", yep that's my Grumpy to a tee! I do love my "Grumpy" though!!!

We did it!!!!! We did it!!! with only 1 under his breathe this a nightmmare!!!!!
I did make sure he was drinking alot:rolleyes1

:) Can you give us just a few details. Did your son have a good time?

Oh wow he only said, " This is a nightmare, once" that is awesome. Heck I have said that more than once and love the place. You go girl and I am happy that you had a pretty good trip. :santa:

I am subbing and looking forward to a little more info....pleeeeeze!

Well DS loved it!!!!!!!!! He walked his little butt off, the fireworks we stood in front of CP and he needed to headphones and laughed the entire time (I cried), we danced with Woody and Bullseye at the party (I cried) then he wanted to slow danced with me(I cried). DH was overwhelmed but he did say he wanted to go back and that is a miracle.

Yay for Disney magic! Isn't pixie dust wonderful? It sort of makes me cry when it gets in my eyes too. :yay:

My husband makes fun of my disney obsession, BUT when I'm in planning mode (which is most of the time!!) I tell him it's ok, he doesn't have to come, but he says if we go, he's going! So, it's ok with me :cool2:

How do you get your wife to go? My husband is not a disney person in the slightest bit... doesn't even want to bring the kids! Help!

I entice my husband with "vacation food". I take pictures at Disney of him eating things like a Dole whip, turkey leg, etc and use them as the screensaver on my laptop to send subliminal messages regularly. Oh, the candy apple catches his eye every time! ;)

Compromise is the name of the game.

I wasn't a Disney nut all my life, though I did like Disney, I just never thought to bring my kids. :confused3:confused3 What was I thinking?????:confused3:confused3

Well, I went to a convention for work near Disney and my Disney-loving friends brought me to DTD and Blizzard Beach. Well......I was won over and completely bitten by the bug. I convinced my hubby to go back that same summer for a trip. He hates spending money and felt it was expensive but he didn't have a terrible time. He just didn't love it.

I, spent my every waking hour, planning our next trip the following June. Fast-forward to the trip: It was soooo hot and crowded and I was still a novice at planning...tried to do too much each day. We were all worn out and didn't like being crowded together in one room (there were 5 of us). So that was it for my hubby. He wasn't going back after that trip :sad2::guilty:pirate:

I really wanted to go on a trip with my friend the following year but DH said no. Another year slips by. :sad2::guilty:pirate:

After much begging and pleading, I finally get not only DH to agree to another trip but also his brother and sisters to make it a family reunion of sorts. This time, better armed with 3-4 years of DIS knowledge and what was then great info from Tour Guide Mike, I planned a great trip. First we went in November and second, we rented a whole house off property. It was so awesome! We had a rental car and my hubby would drop the girls and I off at the parks in the morning and do his thing with his friends off Disney property. Then we would all meet up at the house! BEST VACATION EVER....details are in my trip report in my siggy.

LONG story short, I figured out what my hubby did and didn't like about Disney and played up the good stuff and minimized the stuff he didn't like...that way everyone got the vacay they wanted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After 21 years of dropping hints, my son becomes obsessed with Toy Story and DH (along with help) began to notice DS's Toy Story total freak out.
Then I started to research with easyWD and we went in December (a cooler month) and then you have to decide what are things he loves to do. My DH was a Disney hater and now we are going back next December! You have to tell me why he doesn't want to go, if I can get my DH to drink the kool-aid maybe together we can figuire how to get your DH to go.
