20411 and C for GSC!!![]()
I did 8 miles yesterday with almost no IT band pain in my hip! Just a little tightness, but overall it felt really good and I'm thrilled that the stretching/rolling seems to really be helping.
We're almost there! Only 19 days til I leave wooo! SO EXCITED!!![]()
Got my corral - about where I thought I'd end up - looking at course map and wondering if anyone can tell me where you can just motor along so I can save a few moments for a character photo or two? Looks like miles 1-3 and 7-10 would be good. Of course, I may be crawling by then if my hip doesn't let up:-/
Course maps and corral info is up, though no official waiver link yet.
Glad I found this thread better late than never! This will be my first Disney race and my first race longer than a 5k. I'm only doing the Enchanted 10k, so no corral for me yet! I'm getting very excited about also nervous about it!
This time, I forgot to put my proof of time, and ended up in O...which i'm guessing was from my NOT so stellar time in the Wine & Dine. Oh well, i'm just doing it for fun anyway - I never stop for pics or restroom breaks, so i'm sure I will be fine. Just have to get there early to get up far in my corral. I'm excited to run (or walk, since i've heard it is super crowded) through the castle!!![]()
Here's some: I had to quit running and walk all of the last 3 miles of the WDW Half a few weeks ago, and know what? It was really FUN! I didn't stop for any pics with characters, but for the first time in a long distance Disney race, I looked around, pulled over once or twice to take crowd pics, and enjoyed the surroundings. None of it is worth inviting injury, but if you're healthy, go slow and have a great time with itI could really use some encouragement. At this point, I'm not really interested in what my time will be, I just want to cross that finish line. Twice.![]()
Yes! Well, maybe not need, but you'll be happy to have them, I bet.Do I need to be prepared with sunglasses?
HOORAY!!! I'm so glad to hear this!I did 8 miles yesterday with almost no IT band pain in my hip! Just a little tightness, but overall it felt really good and I'm thrilled that the stretching/rolling seems to really be helping.![]()
Did you get a confirmation email reply when you submitted your time? I have every time I've sent PoT by email - they responded within a few days to say they'd updated my registration.Question, I am about 2000 spots and one corral behind my mom, who has a slower proof of time (by about 4-5 min). I updated my proof of time and got the confirmation that my info has been updated, but now I'm not so sure seeing my bib number. I emailed the track shack disney email (where I emailed my updated proof of time back in November). Is that the correct email to address this? I need all the cushion possible as I was just diagnosed with peroneal tendonitis in my right foot yesterday, and don't know how the rest of training is going to go.TIA!
this year's donald half was SO crowded. when you get to the one lane areas, just have patience. and PLEASE don't run 4+ people in a line so that it's impossible to pass. i can't tell you how many people we saw LINKING ARMS during the race.![]()
I'm in E for GSC. It says Elite and A are women only.. do you think men are allowed to start in B? Anyone have a male running with them that is higher than C?
I'm in G.
Now I wish they would hurry up and post the race instructions. Hopefully it will give us an idea of when each corral will step off! Anyone look up what time the sun will come up on that morning? Do I need to be prepared with sunglasses?
I'm a little surprised that runDisney did this. In the past it was A and B that were women only, and that comprised about 6000 runners last year or ~25% of the field. This year, it's Elite and A, which comprises a total of around 500 runners (including half + GSC), or 2% of the field.
You know, for marathon weekend I'm pretty sure they never did publish the start times for the corrals. It just occurred to me, I wonder if this is intentional to try to reduce people's fixation on the specific corrals and the time cushion each one might provide with regard to the pace requirements.
