A bigto all who completed their long runs this weekend!
I did 10 miles on the treadmill...it wasn't too bad as I've been saving the complete collection of "China Beach" DVDs to watch during long runs. Anyone else remember that show? It ran from 1988-1991. Lots of fun 60s music in the soundtrack, which keeps me moving! Plus, no commercials to bore me!
DH ran 8.5 outdoors, with snow, ice, wind and temps in the 20s....brrrrr!
Can anyone confirm if there is a KT tape booth at the expo and if they'll tape you up? And if so, how much does it cost?
OMG!! I just found out about China Beach FINALLY having been released on DVD -- I LOVE THAT SHOW!!! I need to buy that to tough out some long treadmill runs after we get snow this week...
THANKS FOR THAT REMINDER!!![]()
Yes-- if I remember correctly, they would do 1 application for free. Not sure if there was a cost or if they would do more than one. When we were there, the line was long, but then again, the lines for EVERYTHING were long at that time.

MRS AR said:I'm staying at the poly for GSC. Anyone else get a letter from Disney saying there would be no monorail from 11 till 5 (I think). I hope I was sent the letter in error and that service issues will be resolved before then

EEK!! I just finished my top for my costume!Working on my skirt today! I'm getting excited and scared!! 31 days till I get there!!!!! Are you ladies running in your costumes outside or on the treadmill? I'm thinking treadmill because 1) I'm not running in a tank and skirt in 20 degree weather and 2) I need to sweat in it (gross, I know) to see if the fabric marker will run.
Finally able to do a long 7 mile run this weekend after having IT band/hip issues for about 2 months now. I was feeling really good and just had really minor pain up until about 6 miles in and then it got worse, but I still feel like this is a big improvement, as I was really only able to run about 2.5 miles a few weeks ago before there was a lot of painI have been stretching and foam rolling 2 times per day, and 3 if I run. Should I be rolling more that that to try to get it really loose?
Also, does anyone have experience with KT taping the outside of their hips? I'm considering trying it, but it just seems like an awkward place to tape and I wasn't sure if it would do any good at all![]()
Running on a surface that has a lot of give--like sand, or mushy snow--can be really tough. Traction isn't as good, and your muscles are working harder to stabilize your leg/foot and provide your liftoff. For me, I feel it in my hip flexors. I hope you can find something that works for your next run, but if not, just take it slow. Also, it wouldn't be unusual if your knee pain was related to your tight calves/shins. Do you stretch after each run? I stretch my shins by kneeling on the ground, then sitting back on my heels. And stretch my calves with the tried-and-true lean against a wall with one leg back.
BernardandMissBianca: I like the strawberry honey stingers too. That is what I take with me on my long runs. The bike store my dh goes to had them half price a couple months ago because they were right at their expiration date so I picked up a bunch.
You can wear whatever you would like.. I think what they were referring to was, "perfect pricesses" will receive a tiara/sash for doing so.
