I originally booked at ASMu because I got a better deal with the OZI code than for the race rates at ASMo (based on a 5-night stay). I figured I would just walk over to ASMo to catch the bus. When I was at WDW for Expedition Everest Challenge, they didn't seem to care who got on the bus. Depending on which building you're in, it could be a short or long walk, but either way it's a good warm-up, right?

There'll be at least one room still available at ASMu for race weekend because I'm about to cancel my reservation. My parents and sister just decided to join me at WDW so I'm about to upgrade to CBR instead.

I was not able to work on it today but my hubby said ok if I find the right number$$, I know is 90% full but it is what it is and if God means for me to go well...still I am fully trained and I am increasing miles and speed to be in top shape, just in case I make it! I guess you are right about the hotel if I stay at the Music or the Sports worst cas scenario if they don't allow me to load in I ask Carlos to drop me by the finish line, I'll figure something out. Still trying to work out a budget, what is everybody think about the other events, cheering pack, post race Happily ever after Party etc. And does anybody knows what is included in the $120 entry fee?

How are you getting to the starting line? I need ideas from everybody!!! usually I get nervous at the starting of a race and getting ther can't be the reason, it will freak me out

We will drive to Epcot.
For the $120 entry fee you get a bib, tee shirt and medal (if you finish).
Party not going.....not worth the money now its in the studios, will just go in during normal hours.
Cheer pack, way to much money, my husband and daughter are going to go to TCC to see me go past then back to Epcot for the finish.
Race retreat, too much money, I will get to Epcot just before the roads close, I hate waiting around for hours before the start, would rather be in bed!!!!! So for me just not worth $95.

We are staying at the Swan so my DH is driving me over to the front of Epcot for the start of the race and will most likely stay there until I finish. We aren't staying for the party (have to get back to work on Monday) and I don't think its worth it now that it is in the Studios - any anyway the other 2 parties I went to after races were free for runners and one of those parties was at the Studios. As far as the cheer packages - I know my DH wouldn't want to do it so we aren't spending the money. If it benefits your family/friends then it might be worth it to look into it. And the Race Retreat - I don't bother since I find the WISH team and usually stick with them - its not hard to find them since the color sticks out - LOL. I don't wear the WISH shirt so I have to find them - they won't find me. But I would rather be with the WISH team then cooped up in some high price "retreat" but that is just my opinion.

Hi Tricia! I did check out the Swan and Dolphin rates and they were actually more than what Disney was quoting. I used the number they gave you for the special race rates. My husband is actually an educator so we would have been eligible for that discount, but it was still higher than the CB hotel. We also have APs but those discounts don't apply to Friday or Saturday night so even that was more money......plus, we'd have to rent a car. We're paying something like $170 a night. It's way more than we wanted to spend for such a spur of the moment trip but it does include all taxes. The FL hotel rate is something like 12.5% so that makes it more like $150/night. I was on the phone with one of the CMs for a long time trying to find something reasonable and we both decided that for not having a car, this was the best deal.

Add me to the list of people NOT attending the after party. We have APs so we don't want to pay for something we can basically get free. I've been to several of the other after-parties (TofT, EEC) and they are nothing special. No race retreat for us, either. That's alot of money for a bagel and some bananas....I'll pack my own instead! I'd rather spend it on a nice restaurant meal.

hey all- wanted to let you know i recieved my BONDI band from rebecca last night in the mail. its super cute! i will get a pic online hopefully tonight or tomorrow after work. I plan on using it tonight on my run to see how comfy it is!
I leave for disney in a month! very scared!!

My honest thoughts. NONE of these are necessary or even required. I am not buying any of them. The Party doesn't really appeal to me and the last time I went to the TOT Party I thought it was a waste. (Not to mention that the CLOSED the concession stands, opened "special" stands and charged $4 for CAN of Coke! )

The race fee gets you in the race, gets you a tshirt and a medal at the end.

Thats all I give Disney, thier races cost enough!

Christine? I think it was you that had the info to order the Bondibands? The number or email and how to pick it up at the Expo? I'm still on the fence about it, I think I bought a black one from the Minnie Expo last year and it's possible that the color itself just looked bad on me with the added Minnie ears I wore (i'm from MI, think ghost). I didn't think it looked quite right on me but am sooo tempted to do the pink one. If I don't do the bondiband there is a good chance you won't be able to tell my Jan photos from my March ones

Sooooo Happy people! I have just register, promised my husband to go cheap on the hotel and everything else, my daughter Carmen (4) is running the 200 yards, this is her second race, post later, sooooo happy, soooooo happy, will go to the pre race meet at Port Orleans, can't wait to meet you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a question for our SPIbelt owners. I have a amphipod pocket that I am wondering if I can add to the double SPIbelt. I could put my camera in one of the zips pockets, my phone/cash in a zipped pocket kept at the back and have my amphipod pocket to the front which is what I have been carrying my gels in.

The amphipod belt is 2 inches wide. what do you think? is the SPIbelt smaller in width and the amphipod will just bounce? I am looking at this idea because my camera case belt look is much wider than the amphipod and I think it was after mile 6 it really started to bug me as the camera was wandering around the belt. I have heard tons of good things about the sPIbelt and it's been on my possible things to buy list for a while now and am thinking NOW is the time

besides the fact that i shouldn't have more coffee today (hyper/posting) can you give me some thoughts on the SPIbelt width.

Sorry I'm not a SPIbelt owner, but you reminded me of a question I've been meaning to ask for awhile. I can't remember if it was here on the DIS or at disneyrunning.com, but someone posted about some type of running wallet that somehow tucks into the waistband of your running shorts. Does this ring any sort of bell? I want to look for more information about this product but can't remember the name of the manufacturer. Thanks in advance if you have any information to share!

Hi, I have been lurking around for awhile in the hopes of joining in the half marathon. So now my hubby finally said yes! and we just registered!!!He is going to support me through this as I have never done this before,
I am scared What did I get myself into?!!!! We are staying at the
buena vista suites we are going to really go budget as we live in Curacao in the Netherlands Antilles, so the flight alone is really expensive. I am really
excited and hope that you guys can get me through this (hopes not to get cold feet lol)

My princess tiara came today- I'll try to post a picture later. I'm totally amused with it.

Hungrygreenhippo- I have that wallet by Amphipod. It kind of annoys me. I like the idea a lot, but it's bigger than I thought. It holds probably 10 cards/id/etc but wouldn't fit a camera or anything. You could get a key in with less cards. The material is thick. I haven't tried to wear it in awhile. It popped off me a couple of times, but I didn't get it until I was pregnant and I had weird shape issues... I bought a shoe wallet from them too. I used that for the half to hold my id, roomkey, and cash. I liked that better. It has a velcro thing on it so you can rip it off reasonably easy (like at the finish for your massage money!) I put it on one foot and the chip on the other and it was fine.

I have a Fuel Belt that I got for NY Marathon (had you considered?) and I ran the whole way w/it, did not carry a camera but I'd seen people with the aphipocket in it, can't complaint did not bother me the whole 26.2, they may have this on sale at the expo, so far it's been in every single one, just an idea

Trust me in this: you want nothing tuck in your running shorts, again look for the Fuel Belt at the expo, or go to the web site, is a little pricey but well worth it, speaking of things tucked in the shorts...does everyone knows about the Body Glide, better know as my "inner tights, pinky toe, under arm firend?"
