Hi Ladies,
I just popped on here because I just got back from the 1/2 and am wishing that I could also do the princess, but it won't happen this year. Oh well, there's always next year;) . Anywho, I love the idea of the BondiBand with the lime green tiara and would love one to go with my WISH shirt. Will those of us not going to the Princess be able to order them and have them sent? Just thought I'd ask. And girls....you're gonna look GREAT!:cool1: There were a group of ladies at the 1/2 wearing tiaras, tanks in various pastels, and skirts made of tulle and ribbon(to match their tanks, of course)...they looked super cute!!!

Hi Ladies,

My first thought, having read the above, was "Oh, wouldn't I look cute in a TuTu "(heavy with sarcasm). And then, my thought was "why doesn't Disney come up with a cuddly/fluffy/full-figured Princess..."

And THAT thought triggered a memory from October. So,here's a quick story to make you laugh. As you can see by my Avatar, this past October my family and I went to WDW and a MNSSHP. My husband and the boys went as Pirates and although I call myself a Princess in my PTR (and btw, please stop by and say Hi there), in ACTUALITY, I went as Princess Aurora's Queen Mother (who doesn't have a name).

While going through the park, a few CM's called me "Princess," which was sweet of them, but made me feel ridiculous b/c of my age. I wanted to say "Can't you see I'm a QUEEN." Anyway, it was still nice.

Then I was in line with my family, and I'm sorry I don't remember the ride, but two little girls were in front of me, about the age of 7. One of them stares at me for a few moments and then with absolute conviction, turns to her friend and says, "See her. She's Princess Fiona from Shrek." The other little girl was not so sure, but the 1st girl was adamant, "Oh yes, that is definitely Princess Fiona."

Are you laughing?:) My heart was broken a little bit, thinking I looked so cute in my costume, and here is a small child thinking I looked like an ogre.

Oh well, that's life. Here's another pic of the ogre.

ohhh!!! That just got me a good laugh here at the office.. LOL

Another funny story,

We were on the Disney Cruise this past Sept. and we were with my inlaws who have cruised with Disney MANY times, and know some of the CM's - anyway, this one CM was "off" but had come on the ship to help train some of the new CM's, and we were chatting with him, He was saying that he was so use to working and calling all the lil' girls "princesses" that he had to catch himself - and NOT do it when he was a "guest" on the ship, in plain clothes, b/c some of the parents were looking at him a lil' upset, and then he had to explain himself... LOL

:rotfl2: I know how he feels! I used to be a part time manager for The Disney Store and when my store closed I went to work for Gymboree. It was so hard not to call the store the "Stage" and our backroom "Backstage". I was also used to calling customer guests! Talk about some funny looks! I did catch myself saying "Have a magical day" to someone once. She just gave me the crazy eye:scared: and said "Yeah, you too."

I know that I'm being an pain but....

To anyone that has volunteered at a WDW event before:

We deceided to voulunteer at the half since we won't be ready to run it. When do you find out if you've been accepted as a volunteer and what your assignement is? We picked to volunteer at the race only and want to know when we will have to be there and until what time.

I just feel the lack of communication coming from WDW sports is just crazy.

We still don't know what time the party is! I'm guessing 7pm to Midnight but that is just a guess based on previous WDW parties.

Thanks for letting me vent :)

Afternoon all!!

Tracey, I am sure we can work something out to get a headband to you. How about anyone who wants theirs mailed send an extra buck? Then, whether they are shipped directly to me, or I pick them up at the expo I will just mail them when I get them. Any preference for me getting the before the expo and mailing them to everyone?

Since we are out of town this weekend, my plan was to do my long, outdoor walk today instead of Sunday. Who knew the temps would be in the single digits today?! Anyway, I decided to do my 2 hours on the TM instead. And, ..... I did 9.375 miles! I had not done the walk 3/run 2 before, so I decided to give it a try. And, it felt great. Much easier to track that sort of thing on a TM than out on the road, however. For those planning to walk 3/run 2 for the marathon, how do you plan to keep track of the time?

Hey guys! I'm in the process of registering my SIL and for the Princess Half and 5K and I'm wondering if anyone know if the the commerative mickey ears are adult size or kid size...

Thanks!

I have a Garmin to track mine. MY DH was nice enough to get it for me for my 30th birthday.

Doesn't matter to me!

Christine....that would be great if you could send a headband or I guess I could check with BondiBand and have one included with my order (I was going to order 3 anyway). And, I also have a Garmin, but in addition to that I have a Timex watch (the athletic ones) and they will beep intervals for you. I bought my latest one at Marshall's for $19.99, but you can find them at any sports shop. At the 1/2 this past weekend there were watches beeping everywhere;) and that way you don't have to keep checking your watch.
2BoysMom....that's a great costume. You're the only princess/queen in your house, too....I have 4 boys myself. It's good to be queen.;) ;)

acourtwdw - sorry, i have no idea about vol. questions - sorry!!!

Christine - It doesnt' matter, i am fine with whatever. I am just as ok to pick it up myself at expo or if you want to order them now i am cool with that too. ;)

Stacie - hmm.. i am hoping they are adult size, as i ordered one for myself!! LOL - Seriously though - it didn't say kid size, so i am assuming it's probably a "one size fits all" kinda thing.. ;)

Shelley - I am planning on bringing my stopwatch. I wish i could afford a Garmin, but i need to save $$ for cocktails ( -er...i mean FOOD) ;) while i am in WDW.. So i guess i will just keep checking in on my watch. I am assuming i will also have an idea from training at home as to what time i should be at certain mile markers - so i will compare that to my watch on raceday.

Oh! Duh!! I have a Garmin. I just didn't know if it would be a hassle to program it. So, it just keeps beeping at intervals? I can get it to beep at 4 min. 4 min 9 min 11 min..... indefinately?

When I registered for the WDW Full Marathon online, you picked the "positong" and time schedule that went along with it. Weather it be at the expo or on the course or doing a water stop etc. Then aobut a month before I got something in the mail reminding me that I signed up to volunteer and where I would be vlunteering at and instruction on how to pick up my "credentials" at the expo. Final instructions were given there.

Tracy

What model Garmin do you have? I've been thinking about getting one. I'm really worried about not being able to keep track of my mileage after training on a TM all winter. I don't want to be behind and not know it.

Hey. what does "beeping at intervals" mean? Why would you want your watch beeping at you?:confused3
