Remember that the Sport Beans can be found at Target. I like the green ones but for me I find I can't eat them or blocks/moons while racing. I choked on a sport bean in the marathon as we went into the MK.
Figuring out what works now is what it's all about. Each person is different. I have been trying to push my racing refueling into the 'norm' of what everyone else does and that wasn't working for me. In the DL race I took my gel at the 30 minutes into the race and then every hour after that. Typically I was waiting until an hour into the race and would then fight feeling light headed or not quite right. When I took my gel this time at 30 minutes into the race and followed the 1 every hour I finished feeling great. I don't eat great before the race. I'm not a morning/breakfast person even when training. On Sat's you will catch me eating a powerbar in the 1st mile as breakfast.
By the way LUNA has Moons and they aren't that bad. They are smaller in size to the blocks. Can't remember if Target carries them. I like the Pomegrante.
And if you carry your water instead of using the belts, I use a NATHAN handheld I actually have used a White Mountain (?) bottle I picked up at the airport on my flight down and just refilled that. The handheld comes with a bottle but it's a tad bit fat so the White Mtn that has a sport lid is taller and allows a bit more room in the middle which lends more room to the pocket

Anyways what I wanted to point out is with this handheld I have take a small carabringer clip but the kind that screw close and put in thru the loop of the tightening ribbon. I can take a pic if someone needs it but with the clip I was able to hook my Clif Shot gels to my handheld in the Marathon and I just gave them a slight nip of the scissors on the morning of, just to make it tear easier for eating, they already have a small nip but sometimes when your hands are swollen so i give it a nip. You don't have to nip the belt loop section that tore off just fine when i needed it. Now for the marathon i had 2 people on the course with fresh bottles and gels if i needed them.
just thought i'd toss that out there in case it helped someone.
Hope everyone's training is going well. I went for my 1st 1 mile slow walk last night. My injured tendon (curtesy of DL1/2) did fine though I had another ache LOL If it's not one thing it's another. My dr told me no running until this weekend but it seems to be good. Course I think I've been a tad bit cranky since I haven't been out to the park in 2 weeks. LOL
Have a great weekend everyone!!!! To those that have recently decided to take on the Princess CONGRATS! May you have a wonderful journey!
