I noticed that too! Christine... we need your full name girl!! LOL

I think she is out of town this weekend! Boy will she be surprised when she gets back!! :rotfl2:

My cold got the best of me today. I feel icky. I was suppose to do 4 miles but was only able to do 2. At least I got 2 in.:confused3

Well, I made it. :woohoo: The first couple of miles were tough. My calves were tightening up. However, after a short time, they started loosening up and I made the 7 miles in under 16 minute miles. I'm wondering if the problem was switching around my rest day and not getting any exercise the day before a long run. I don't think I'll do that again.

Good job on getting in those 7 miles!! After warming up for about a mile - then try stretching a bit for your calves while they are warm. You can also try doing your first mile slower using it as a warm up.
Sometimes when you start adding miles you need to warmup alittle bit more to get those muscles firing and stay firing for that long.

Caitsmama: Would you like me to start a separate thread for the WISH meet at POR - get an idea of who is coming and such?

Tracy

Caitsmama - I think it was you that was so kind to make a green Mickey head name thing. Do you think you do one for me? I was thinking of making a tech shirt to wear and have some way of identifying me a WISH member without having to wear my WISH tech shirt since I don't really care for the way it rides up on me and then I remembered your awesome design. I am not sure how you did the wording but maybe in the Mickey head Princess Tricia and in the crown TnTsParty - if that will fit. You are so awesome to do this for everyone.

Went out for my first post marathon run/walk - it turned into more of a walk then run because my left calf is still a little tight feeling since I charley horsed right after the marathon in that calf. I think the tightness was making my arch hurt. So I kept it slow and walked alot. But at least I got 3.5 miles in - not too much and not too little. I want to commend everyone for getting out there or on the TM and getting those miles in.

Thanks for the tips. I'll try that next time.

The new running shorts made a major difference. I didn't have any chafing at all today. Now, all I have to do is figure out what to do about the bottom of my feet as they get tingly after awhile. I want to try the Body Glide on them and see if that helps.

Tracy, sure, if you want to start another thread for the meet, be my guest! Then i can link that thread into my first post here - so they all know where to go :) Thanks so much!

Tricia, sure! I will work on it tonight for you!

Vicki, ok, spill... what new shorts... do tell, do tell!! LOL

Good for you! :cool1: Effort in the right direction totally counts!

Tracy: I've not tried this specifically, but I've done other iron projects. I was thinking about printing off the decal and laminating it and then pinning it to the shirt. Just a thought.

Does anybody know anything about the cheering section. My inlaws are talking about coming to cheer now, and I've not been paying attention to cheering info Edited because you just never know who might be reading over your shoulder! LOL  Any ideas on where to tell them to be? I guess I know who I'm eating lunch with now, and it's not Stacy at the Poly.

I bought a pair of Nike running shorts. On the inside tag, they say Nike FIT DRY. They look similar to these but mine are black with some light pink accents around the top band. I also bought a Nike pink tank to match.

I don't know much about the cheering areas yet but I will be getting the platinum cheering package for my DH. He'll be more comfortable which means he'll stay supportive. :lmao: He is really helping me stay on track for this. I couldn't ask for a better cheering section.

I have heard about the stretchable transfer paper by Avery. I believe people have found it in Walmart. I have not tried it yet. Here is a site that had some to see some details.

Here is the description for it...

Description: Avery® Printable Stretchable Transfer Sheets, which include Avery's Softstretch™ formula, allow images to stretch with the fabric and provide a softer feel than other iron-on transfers. The product is designed to work with White stretchable synthetic or synthetic blend fabrics including cotton/poly blends and 100% polyester fabrics. It's an ideal choice for creating customized sports apparel and fashion wear including tailored tees, tank tops, sweatshirts, bags and other accessories. 5 pc- Each sheet is 8 1/2"x 11". All you need is software or an ink jet printer that allows you to flip images, and an ordinary iron. Instructions included.

I just may try it.
