Calling All Parents: Stinky Shoes/Feet!!!

Cheap, easy & non-toxic: Take an old pair of nylons and cut the feet off, producing two sock-like pieces. Fill the "socks" with baking soda and tie the open end in a knot. Put them in the shoes whenever the shoes have been taken off. Baking soda absorbs odors like a charm.

I have posted this before. It was medically advised to me years ago.

There is bacteria in some of the lower levels of skin that cause the smell.

This is the surgical scrub soap used in hospitals that you have to shower with the night before surgery that helps reduce germs in skin that's going to be cut.

They sell it in drugstores now (and in WalMart, on Amazon, etc., and I believe a pp posted a generic version but I didn't look closely at the ingredients in those links).

Soak the feet in that and then wash them directly with the soap. You may have to do it a couple of times.

It will happen again if using the offending shoes.

With my own son I also found that his wearing 100% cotton socks made things much better than the socks that have nylon in them that are so popular today. You have to search for them now as they're hard to find. I try to stick with 100% cotton myself for my work shoes, too.
