Calling all October 25, 2012 Dream 3 day cruisers!

Hi,

Firstly I am new to this, but have really enjoyed reading all your comments. We are hopefully booking tomorrow to go on this cruise and very excited. I'm not sure about some of the abbreviations being used, so please excuse me if I write anything out in full (maybe someone could kindly point me in the right direction). We (myself, hubbie & 17yr old daughter) are going to Orlando (3rd visit) on 13th October for 3 weeks, staying at a friends's villa. My daughter was looking through the teen thread on here and found a fantastic report from another teenage girl who went on the Dream. It sounded so great so we went online and now looks like we will be coming along on this cruise!!
We have been on a cruise before around the Med, but it wasn't that good due to suffering from seasickness & it wasn't that great a ship. I did say I would never go on a cruise again, but this sounds great & we love Disney.
Really sorry if I have written too much, but will confirm tomorrow if booking goes okay and really keen to joing Facebook page.
Thanks
Allie

Hi Allie!

Hopefully you will be joining us!

If you do book, please PM me your Facebook name(s) and I will send a friend request & add you once you accept. :)

My younger DS is 17 also, has been on the Dream, and is in the FB group... so if your DD wants to join the FB group, PM me her FB name as well so I can add her. He can give her some info about the ship and who knows, maybe they'll like having someone they "know" to hang out in Vibe with!:thumbsup2

It's done, just booked cruise & happy as got quite a good deal.:cheer2: Booked 11c cabin which will be allocated on arrival, with possibility of upgrade. Thanks very much Wendy, FB sounds great will do that & my daughter as well. I have seen your FB page, so do you want me to send you my name on there or just put it on here?

Now busy looking at videos and getting excited lol

If you can send a join request for the group, go ahead and do that - I'm not sure how that works?

If not, just send me a FB friend request and have your daughter do the same and I will get you both added.

Will you be participating in the FE?

Hi Wendy,

sent you request on facebook to join the group. Don't think we will be joining the FE (even though it sounds really amazing) but it could be difficult as we won't know our cabin number until we get on the ship, plus think I could end up getting a bit stressed lol.

Got you both added to the adult group... if your DD wants to join the 17 & under group as well, just have her send the request. :goodvibes

we're cruising for the first time EVER,:yay:
i see DD and DS not sure what all those mean yet, :blush: but we'll be in 6688 the FE (fish extender ?) sounds like fun,
can't wait to get started on making our own FE to hang.
Oct 25 seems so far away, and we're trying to keep it secret from our daughter...it's not easy =)

does anyone know if there will be trick or treating on this boat since it's a few days before Halloween?

Welcome!! You're gonna LOVE DCL!!!

DD = dear daughter
DS = dear son
DW = dear wife
DH = dear husband (or in my case, dear headache! :rotfl:)

Let me know names and ages of your party and I will add you to the FE group!

We also have a Facebook group if you're interested in joining that as well.

Our last October cruise was in early October, so I don't know about trick or treating, maybe someone else does.

Thank you for the acronym tips :cutie:
still debating on the FE since it's our first cruise...how many FE's are generally assigned to each party ?

so what's the weather like in CC around late October? it's 5 mo away still ....but never too early to shop ;)

FE: I've had 15-16 families for each cruise I have been on so far. :thumbsup2

We can always break up the group if it gets too large to manage.

Castaway Cay: We've only been once in October so far (we've decided to make it an annual family event now - already booked for 2013 as well!) and the weather was ok.

We had a cabana so we probably stayed on CC longer than most since it started drizzling early afternoon I think.

DH & older DD did the 5k while younger DD, DS and I hung out at the cabana, swimming, sunning, and sanding.

We had lunch around noonish I think and it started getting overcast with sprinkles.

We saw lots of folks headed back to the ship but we stayed in our cabana, swimming and napping until we decided to head back.

I have pictures of everyone else napping that are in our photobook - older DD was napping in the rain!:lmao:

I have only cruised in Mexico, so I don't know much about CC, but I keep hearing about the cabanas?? Can anyone give me more details? I can't seem to find much info, but I think it might be right up my ally!! How much are they? How do you reserve them? Etc. Thanks! :thumbsup2

Last year we sailed on the Wonder during the week of Halloween, and yes they had trick-or-treating! About 3 weeks before the cruise we got an email that said all cruises the week before and the week of Halloween would have trick-or-treating and they also had a costume contest for adults only (my cousin won the costume contest!). If I remember correctly, they gave out a map of the trick-or-treating trail and it was set up similar to how they do it in the parks. A LOT of people dressed up and it was very fun to see everyone in costume! Also, all the characters were in costume as well (Minne was a witch, I think Donald was a pirate, etc). I imagine they will do something similar :)

I posted the flyers we received in our cabin regarding our cabana here:

They have the prices and the details.

You can reserve online as soon as your booking window opens.

Yeah! Halloween at Disney is so much fun, how exciting if we can trick or treat on the cruise too! our 'DD' will flip out with excitement. :hyper: Can't wait :woohoo:
hmmmm now what to pack for costumes...:wizard: or :scared1: or :hippie: or :firefight or :artist: or :princess: or :pirate:....

Only 138 days to go!!! With all the wedding planning going on in our house, it only just occurred to me that I need to start thinking about what to make/bring for our FE gifts - yikes! One more thing to plan....

I guess it's a little quiet since we are more active under our Facebook group! I like it there it's more warm and cozy than on the forum ;)

My husband and I will be coming without the kids. We did our first Disney Cruise in February with out 2 little ones, my husband's parents and sister in-law's family. I planned the whole thing down to the little details and even had a planning packet for everyone with itineraries and we had a 5,4,3 and 1 year old.... this will be MUCH for relaxing. DH and I can just sit back and watch the waves! No itineraries.... no kids.... no problems :) We are HOOKED!

this first time around it's me, dh and dd and my mom/dad coming along for our first cruise, was not planning on booking excursions at the moment, but thought about the British Colonial Hilton day pass, poolside and snorkel at the beach in Nassau. Has anyone been there? :cool2:
