Calling all non AKV owners

are any non AKV owners calling on June 6 to see about switching a reservation to AKV? we are!! I know it is a shot in the dark. we are going Oct 24-Nov 4th and would like to do a few days at animal kingdom. we stayed at the resort a few years back and loved it.

We are going to try for Dec 5-10 again I think its a longshot but worth a Try!!!! We are at BCV for those dates and waitlisted for VWL, I am obsessed with checking the member service website, everytime I see its down I SWEAR its updating and our waitlist have came thru, WISHFULL THINKING

We have 2 OKW ressies for Thanksgiving week and the week after. We considered switching to AKV if there were openings for that second week, but decided to stay put at OKW this time. We have our first AKV trip booked for March '08.

We have thought about switching our OKW resv (Oct 21-27) for AKV. My DH really doesn't care though. He says we've got years to stay at AKV--why the rush? So the other day I asked my DS3 where he wanted to stay. "Do you want to stay in a room where you can look out and see the animals like giraffes and zebras or do you want to stay in a room where you can look out and see people playing golf?"

His answer, "GOLF!" (He's obsessed with golf already at age 3!)

So since I'm the only one really wanting to try AKV this trip, we'll probably just not try and be content with the low points at OKW.

We did an addon for AKV and points became available 6 days after AKV owners could book their ressie.

We booked our ressie for the second week in October for 7 nights. Didn't ask about the 2 bedroom but both Savannah studio & Savannah 1 bedroom were available. We were surprised and excited that what we needed wasn't already snapped up.

Also the farther out you book (within the 7 month schedule) the more chance there will be more units available for booking because they're working hard at getting the Jambo House completed.

Hoping you get what you're looking for and sending all you non AKV owners pixie dust for Wednesday. Looking forward to hearing much good news shortly afterwards.

I'm currently booked at SSR for Oct 21-26, with waitlist at BWV... but I'm thinking about calling on Wed to see if I can get AKV...

My family is going and hasn't stayed with me at DVC yet, but they are looking forward to it. They said they like the idea of being next to DTD... but my points and I wanna stay at AKV! (But they've all been to Boma with me, so I know they all love the AKL...)...

Of course, I'd still take the BWV if it came thru... makes stumbling back to the room after over indulging at F&W so much easier!

Just this Thursday, I obtained points from an AKV owner and had them transferred to my account. I called immediately and was able to book a studio standard view for 12/9-12/15. Tried for 12/2 to 12/8, but a couple of the nights weren't available. I was actually shocked I was able to get it.

I think you will have a pretty good chance for the reasons you mentioned. There aren't many AKV owners who could book a stay prior to Sep 1st.

I think it was the 3rd and the 6th.

You may get a standard view or savannah then. Be sure to waitlist!
